You're quite right.

These are all copyright Yoshitaka Amano. They're from Final Fantasy I and can all be found in his art book "Dawn" as well.

*sigh*

Apologies for the delay: the unread flags in this forum software don't work at all well & didn't spot this until now.

Thanks, y'both.

Good. If you need additional proof, I actually have the art book with all the images in question. I'm having a difficult time finding the images online though.

Cheers & thanks for the offered back-up on that, Damaratus.

Would prefer for them to remove the artwork themselves (asap) if they don't have a note from the artist.
We've had quite a few people accidentally thinking we're some sort of pseudochan: an understandable mistake phps, given all the great work around (:)), but deliberately appearing to claim such works as one's own is pushing the bounds of foolhardiness.

Yes, this is why I'm a bit up in arms about this particular "artist". I really respect Yoshitaka Amano's artwork, and it becomes painful to see someone claiming it as their own like this.

Oh I do have a selection of art books ^^, including Amano, Brom, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and others. I do love being able to look at such stuff.

Damaratus.

EDIT: You can page through here

http://www.ffcompendium.com/h/art.shtml

and find most of the images, except for the Chaos one. Read the disclaimer as well since it explains where the art came from.

A simple google search turned up http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&q=taylorsoutherland_mariobrosrescue.jpg&btnG=Search that for the Mario one and the Pokemon one has a clear japanese signature on it which I'm pretty sure doesn't translate to taylorsoutherland or cutemew.

So is something going to be done about this guy?

Since when does Unc ever beat around the bushes? :D

Well I'm only concerned because I don't like seeing the stuff still up on the site. I know they're probably waiting for some kind of reply from the actual user, but the longer that work is up, the longer FA is violating copyrights.

Oh I know, I'm concerned with it too, but that's never an excuse to not be playful. ^-^

Yeah, I'd usually have tagged the images with an admin note re. copyright violation pending explanation, but I had expected a rapid reply from the user given their recent activity levels.

Didn't get back around to that owing to other pressing issues. My bad...

Thanks again, y'all.

It's alright, I know you've got your paws full with a lot of stuff. I guess since Amano's work is a favorite of mine that I was a bit more passionate about it.

Thank you for taking care of it. ^^
