Biography:

Curiosity is the sole force in the universe that allows us to unsheathe the very nature of truth, and it gives us the faculties to wield that raw flame as a candle. Some cower in darkness, and can only be burned by the glory of this starshine that blazes from beyond. Others thrive on it, as their sole source of warmth and comfort in a murky abyss haunted by demons.

I am a custodian of this precious glow. For as long as biological eyes have beheld the night sky, and longer, the stars have carried out the sacred duty of beholding the secrets of their celestial realm. Though at times my responsibilities may overwhelm, and paint me as nothing more than a minister who presides over younger minds, the light yet calls to me, and compels me to seek out its manifestations. Make no mistake: the quills will never rest.

Around us sits an infinity filled beyond comprehension with this light. The foolish look up at the sky and ask how something so perfectly ordered and harmonious could ever develop such marvels. Nebulae, planetary systems, the music of galaxies as they whip across staggeringly vast distances, even the origin of all the matter in the universe all of these are dependent on imperfection, disorder, and irregularity.

Children of all ages may spend their entire lives striving to become more uniform, to eradicate this most precious reflection of their world. Disappointingly, many succeed, becoming automatons as vapid as their upbringings will permit, devoid of what makes them essential, vibrant creatures. I am all too familiar with the feel of this mask upon my face, but as well as anyone can, I know that there is more.

Join me in not making that mistake, dear reader. Embrace the playful, the weird, the unknown, and the strange, even if it means, once in a while, taking off the crowns we all must wear. Make leaps of faith and of logic. Stand on your head and watch the sun dawn downward. Every unexplored avenue and unopened door is the way to a new discovery. Life is only as boring as you let it be.
