    Re: User inactivity suggestion

Agreed! Was gonna post this exact same thing. Just put a hidden timer on all submission notifications. When it hits two weeks, erase it. At that point, the user is unlikely to view it anyway.

Re: First person 'VS' Third person

I don't understand your gut reaction to so clearly separate fiction from nonfiction. There is gray area; they can blur. And I think that's a part of what's so interesting about this "article"/short...

    Re: Pulp

So are you using this seemingly arbitrary distinction to say that there really is no difference between porn and erotica, that the quibble over terms is just based on semantics, or are you saying...

    Re: Homemade Fursuits

Kind of a stretch from the original post, though I'll roll with it.

To further address the issue though: I think it's important that you take pride in your fursuit creation skills. Although I'm...

    Re: PORN

I laughed, and people gave me weird looks. Darn you Panzer!
  7. Re: Inspiraional discussion. How? When? Why? Thou?

I defined what I think art is, then applied it to you. I used shorthand at the end to talk about your view of writing. By "the words on the page," I meant your words. My fault for leaving it...

    Re: Homemade Fursuits

You want us to tell you how you should feel?

    I don't get it.

Regardless, props for making your own suit.
  9. Re: Inspiraional discussion. How? When? Why? Thou?

I think, as a function of being a teller of your own stories, you also write those stories, and those stories are works of art. I don't think they're art because of any wholly justifiable...

Re: First person 'VS' Third person

Lorrie Moore's "How to Become a Writer" is a really cool example of how you can use second-person in a short story.

As for the two more common points of view, I use both fairly evenly. It really...

    Re: Writers Workshop Interest

I assume you mean plotting as plot creation and development, not devious, insidious scheming. Although the two can be related~

Really, I agree with the OP in that workshops are the best way to get...
  13. Re: Inspiraional discussion. How? When? Why? Thou?

So you don't think writing is an art form, eh Panzer?

    Re: Writers Workshop Interest

Do you mean group as in those user pages that represent multiple users through watches, or would you manage it some other way?

Re: Short Story Contest for Summer 2010

Interesting theme, and I'm glad to see that the deadline isn't for a bit. This should make for a good summer project. Thanks for providing the opportunity, Scotty.
  16. Re: Personal intergral character development. Writers first stories. :)

My first story that I can recall was about a pair of hunters and a squirrel, beginning from the squirrel's perspective and shifting to the hunters. I suppose that situation reflects the (at the time...

    Re: Looking for writers?

    More praise for Vixyy:
She's a master of multiple genres, from sci fi to the fable, and her touching characters are matched only by her entertaining wit.

Sticky: Re: Writers! Post Your Site Suggestions Here!

I definitely think the option for genre variety through more categories is the most important out of all these suggestions. Right now, our best option is to sort our stories through the closest...

Poll: Re: What kind of "fur" are you?

That's interesting...what made you get into suiting, if you've never been to a con and you think furry accessories are just a way to grab attention?
