Rave: Papasan Chairs

I finally got a papasan chair (been wanting one for YEARS), and I don't want to haul my ass out of it. It's so damn comfy! I mean, damn, a giant bowl, with a giant squooshy lime green cushion, that I can position just about any way I want, and it's so big I could sleep in it? Best freaking chair EVER. Get one. Screw your bed, get one of these awesome chairs and you'll be set. It's a chair, it's a bed, flip it upside down and use it as a freaking fort. -flops back in the cushy green cloud- Best birthday present ever

Had to Google it, but yeah. The cheap ones I have tried were with the metal frame and were a bit uncomfortable in some positions because of the lack of padding around the bars.

I had one of those for years. I kept falling asleep in it and flipping the fucking thing over in my sleep and scaring the shit out of myself. >_>

But yeah. Still somewhat amusing thingies.

I have one of those.

I know use it for storage.

It's comfortable, but you can do literally nothing while you sit in it. It's a good chair if you're perfectly content with just sitting all day.

i thought they were extremely uncomfortable and you cant do ANYTHING in them...

I had one on my balcony, when I still lived in an apartment with a balcony. Made a great reading nook.

In college one of my roommates had a wooden one. I enjoyed it when we were just hanging around doing nothing- were were constantly flipping it over accidentally. Now all I can think about is 'terrible back support, omg the pain it would cause!' XD

The most comfortable seating i've ever owned is my bed... A $100 futon.

Ugh, fuck those chairs. Utterly uncomfortable in every way, mostall of them are of awful build quality, the cushions are mediocre at best, and always awful designs of faggoty bullshit, or bright colors that match nothing. If I want to sit down, I sit in a chair or a recliner. If I want to lay down, couch or bed. It doesn't fit anywhere in my design scheme, but I'm sure your concerns are budgetary or aesthetics or both because comfort is not one of those with a papasan chair.

Mine's large and made of bamboo, with a nice thick cushion in a dark olive color.

It goes very nice with my house. :>

When I was a little midget I curled up in the papasan in our apartment in NY. I was like.. three and a half feet tall and the cushion was dark red and HUGE. It had a cherry wood frame.. so awesome.

But then we lost it in storage. :C
