Monthly Banners?

Or do they just pick some random popufur they like?

with the december banners you have to use a tag word that i cannot remember at the moment, i guess they just search them

It would be fun to get picked to draw one of the monthly/weekly/whatever banners... even if you are pretty much limited to drawing just Fender or Rednef.

i think you draw it and if you are popfur enough or its better than the others then you get picked. some banners ive seen look awesome and i never heard of the artist before. just draw one see how it goes

What about, since Dragoneer mentioned in a earlier thread that they're working on a tagging system, in the future someone can upload a potential banner with the exact dimensions and it would show up in a new admin's position to go through all the potential banners and choose the best of the best?
That way a ton of artists will get recognition and not just popular users will get a shot.

From what I can gather, The usual monthly banners are commissioned by Neer or picked by an admin who found it and liked it. Almost Always a popufur. That's probably because popufurs only seem to even look at stuff made by other popufurs.

As for the December banners, I was under the impression that they would actually go though and look at all of the banners and pick from regular artists so that "quite a few people a chance to get noticed." (quoted from the announcement on the front page) I figured they would use this opportunity to give more people a chance to be popular rather than make popular people even more popular. Ever person whose banner has been picked so far has been someone with over 20,000 pageviews. I've personally seen better banners from people with under 5,000; However, I'm pretty confident in thinking that the admins are sorting the list by popularity and just picking the top of the bunch.

Actually, The current banner hasn't even been uploaded by the artist, so I'll fairly assume it was a commission or submitted to an admin in private.

Why the fuck is Secret's character in the main focus of this weeks banner, then it was specifically stated that characters aside fender and rednef can NOT be in the focus. I'd like some answers to this, because it's a little abnoxious seeing a popufur I don't give a shit about on my banner. And yes, i've already adblocked it.
