My guess is the "I can respect furry" will have the most answers.

Furry doesn't have a scale of appreciation or standard from to judge it. Looking at it, it's more a matter of how obsessed one is with the fandom, with lifestylers probably being in the pinacle, hobbyists going after that (with various degrees of involvement) and non-furries in the bottom (or rather outside it).

I don't really see it as a scale to be honest. it's always been a mutually exclusive option. You are either furry or not. I suppose you can be respectful of it, so there's that, but to me being furry is just saying "yup I'm a furry"

Funny thing is, most of my time in the fandom I've never felt that furry. I'm an admin, a fursuiter, artist, and so on, but it never really consumed my life beyond "anthro things are neat"

One of my favourite childhood cartoons was the Swat Kats (tied as my fav along with the real adventures of jonny quest). Yeah I must be a furry because I liked watching that cartoon.:V

Back on point, I agree it is a sliding scale. It can take up only a small bit of your attention or it can run your life.
