i am having a huge ass gay discussion on face book. While being christian i find so many wrongs in the bible. Here is an excerpt:

BE FOREWARNED THE FOLLOWING STATUS MAY AND PROBABLY WILL BE OFFENSIVE. I DONT CARE. I AM TIRED OF THIS HYPERBOLE OF STUPIDITY THAT I AM JUST GOING TO COMPILE SOME OF MY THOUGHTS INTO A CONCEIVED PARAGRAPH TO THOSE WHO SAY WELL THIS ISNT A PARAGRAPH SUCK IT, I DONT CARE. FOR THOSE WHO SAY I TAKE IT OUT OF CONTEXT ASK YOURSELF HOW IS "SMASH A CHILD AGAINST A ROCK" TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT.

if the people who believe in the word of EVERYTHING in the bible, they should also note:
    women are property
    eating shellfish is an ABOMINATION
    bats are birds
You cant eat pigs- that mean no bacon yo
The Sabbath is actually saturday and sunday is the beginning of the week
Its always the woman's fault if raped and if she doesnt yell loud enough she is stoned to death
Its totally ok to kill babies
It is totally ok to kill entire cities
    THE LIST GOES ON
GOD INSPIRED THE BIBLE BUT IT WAS WRITTEN BY MAN SO IF YOU CHOSE TO BELIEVE ONE THING AND IGNORE THE OTHER THEN SCREW YOU- WHEN THINGS GET WRITTEN BY MAN, MAN TENDS TO TILT THINGS IN MAN'S FAVOR. TAKE THE BIBLE WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. Should also mention abomination didnt mean what it does not. Eating shrimp was an abomination as in not normal it didnt mean you outright HATE which by the way god dislikes you hating people. YOU dont judge people HE does so stop this petty whining and get the hell over your self you self pretentious faux christians. If you were a true follower of christ this picture will apply. So tired- what other people do in the bedroom is of no business of anyone. God wanted us to love and accept one another now stop being pricks cullman and own up.

    http://www.atheistmemebase.com/wp-co...obia-jesus.jpg

I apologize if my rant "offends" people- 'It's now very common to hear people say, "I'm rather offended by that", as if that gives them certain rights. It's no more than a whine. It has no meaning, it has no purpose, it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. "I'm offended by that." Well, so fucking what?' —Stephen Fry

someone at this point asked me why i said baby killing was ok and that i had pigs confused with islam so here is some more facts
    PIG FACTS:
    New International Version (©1984)
And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you.
    New Living Translation (©2007)
The pig has evenly split hooves but does not chew the cud, so it is unclean.

    English Standard Version (©2001)
And the pig, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you.

    New American Standard Bible (©1995)
and the pig, for though it divides the hoof, thus making a split hoof, it does not chew cud, it is unclean to you.

    King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

    GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
You must never eat pigs. (Because pigs have completely divided hoofs but do not chew their cud, they are also unclean.)

    King James 2000 Bible (©2003)
And the swine, though it divides the hoof, and is cloven footed, yet it chews not the cud; it is unclean to you.

    American King James Version
And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he chews not the cud; he is unclean to you.

    American Standard Version
And the swine, because he parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, but cheweth not the cud, he is unclean unto you.

    Douay-Rheims Bible
And the swine, which, though it divideth the hoof, cheweth not the cud.

    Darby Bible Translation
and the swine, for it hath cloven hoofs, and feet quite split open, but it cheweth not the cud it shall be unclean unto you.

    English Revised Version
And the swine, because he parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, but cheweth not the cud, he is unclean unto you.

    Webster's Bible Translation
And the swine, though he divideth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

    World English Bible
The pig, because he has a split hoof, and is cloven-footed, but doesn't chew the cud, he is unclean to you.

    Young's Literal Translation
and the sow, though it is dividing the hoof, and cleaving the cleft of the hoof, yet the cud it bringeth not up -- unclean it is to you.

    BABY FACTS
"The people of Samaria must bear the consequences of their guilt because they rebelled against their God. They will be killed by an invading army, their little ones dashed to death against the ground, their pregnant women ripped open by swords." Hosea 13:16
    kill your own kids
"Suppose a man has a stubborn, rebellious son who will not obey his father or mother, even though they discipline him. In such cases, the father and mother must take the son before the leaders of the town. They must declare: 'This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious and refuses to obey. He is a worthless drunkard.' Then all the men of the town must stone him to death. In this way, you will cleanse this evil from among you, and all Israel will hear about it and be afraid." Deuteronomy 21:18-21
    BRATS
"From there Elisha went up to Bethel. While he was on his way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him. "Go up baldhead," they shouted, "go up baldhead!" The prophet turned and saw them, and he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two shebears came out of the woods and tore forty two of the children to pieces." 2 Kings 2:23-24

if you are willing to say SOME things in the bible dont count now a days then why can you not concede that homosexuality which is ranked up with eating some fish and shell fish is also now let go. Forewarning the Catholic church left out books in the bible for a few reasons. So the bible isnt complete.

to say these things are because of the time period how about people realize homosexuality is on the rise because in fact there are more people on this earth. People cannot choose their attraction its like people born of color cannot change their color (excluding a certain pop sigher). So why is it ok that slavery and baby killing as well as raping being ok in the bible, is now deemed not civil in todays terms but homosexuality still sticks? We are not to judge that is gods job.

SO i ask- if you follow everything in the bible, slavery is ok- women can be killed for being raped because its always their fault- children can be murdered in vile ways and homosexuality is ranked up as an abomination as well as eating shrimp and wearing clothes with mixed fibers. So if slavery is not not ok due to civilization advancing why isnt homosexuality ok? Why? Because some people are just plain ignorant. So in short some things are ok but others are not just based on your opinion? Well that isnt how god sees it, you dont turn on Christianity when it pleases you and you sure as HECK dont use it to undermine others. If this status offends you please refer to my stephen fry quote and just de-friend me because I have my own darn mind and I will speak it,

THe only thing I got in response was "well you are not a true christian".

LOLOLOLOLOL so because i dont approve of slavery and torture and a lot of other horrible things I am now not a christian. HAHAHAH TROLOLOL U- I hate life. I hate people.

Look at that sweetheart. They don't even bite. They just trundle and eat vegetation.

Some species of giant millipede have really pretty markings and colors.

It reminds me vaguely of a moth, so it's completely fine (and adorable!).
As most people, I'm mainly thinking of the common house fly. Mind showing that species on the front?

Huh, most/all of those seem to be Old Testament, if I'm not mistaken.
I wouldn't try to convince them otherwise, because they seem a bit... too stubborn.
So, it'd just be a waste of time to try and be logical with them.

That leaves me with mixed feelings. The colors and "fur" help to offset the impression, but the eyes weird me out like in every case. Well, the abdomen isn't as prominent either, so I guess I can leave it at a "I'm neutral".

What are your favorite bugs, Onnes?

    EDIT:
Is that milipede poisonus? Or does the rule not apply in this case?

I really really wish I could get over my inherent dislike of them to just find them fascinating

Instead somehow seeing so much regarding them is fuel for self-loathing

That's a real tough question; I could never pin down a single species or two. If we're taking bugs to mean any terrestrial arthropod then I'll always lean toward spiders.

Salticids (jumping spiders), especially the Phidippus group, are cute.
This is Phidippus audax, she's probably living with you right now.

I also like all kinds of Mygalomorphs (Tarantulas and related). Trapdoor spiders usually represent just the right amount of nightmare fuel.

    EDIT:
Is that milipede poisonus? Or does the rule not apply in this case?
Millipedes aren't venomous--they aren't carnivorous like centipedes. Some can excrete a mild acid or similar, but that's harmless unless you swallow it really.

Millipedes don't bite, if that's what you mean. They can emit a noxious substance when threatened. I dunno if they're safe to eat.

What do you call a spider's "fangs"?

And why are those one's so big? o.o
I've always wondered about those species with big "fangs" but never bothered to look into them -because I didn't have the names, not a very good excuse-.

Chelicerae. The set of limbs next to them are the pedipalps. (Male spiders usually have swollen pedipalps relative to the female.)

I've always wondered about those species with big "fangs" but never bothered to look into them -because I didn't have the names, not a very good excuse-.
Spiders do damage in two ways: venom and brute force. All spiders are venomous, but they rely on that venom to varying degrees. Spiders with huge chelicerae are better able to immobilize prey through force. Salticids like Phidippus will prey on insects larger than themselves and still manage to swiftly incapacitate them with a good bite.

    Thank-you!
Ah, so that explains why tarantulas have them.

Speaking of hummingbirds, I saw one at 30 cm from my face recently for about a few seconds. I had never seen one so close.
