With US presidents my thoughts always tend more toward "It could be worse" than "I genuinely like this person". In terms of policy I probably would have preferred Hillary in the lead. I also think Democrats haven't properly pressed the advantage that their opposing party is batshit insane.
All that really matters, though, is that this year there's a choice between Obama and Romney and the answer there should be fairly obvious.

Ron Paul wants to eliminate the EPA and DOE as well as repeal Roe v. Wade, and he's gone on record saying he wouldn't have voted for the Civil Rights Act. Those are all either on his official website or on his biggest supporter website. He also released a series of newletters with racially charged and homophobic language in the '90s--he claims he didn't actually write them, just "skimmed them and signed them," but they say "by Ron Paul," in a newsletter called the goddamn Ron Paul Survival Report.* The largest collection of those is here.

I think Obama's done a pretty decent job. I pretty much vote to give anyone that isn't awful the two terms they need to really get things done. I feel like he's genuinely trying to work for America's best interest, unlike many politicians. Ron Paul is an interesting option, and I'd actually vote for him, if he made the Republican primaries. I'd only do so for the fact that he's trying to flip government upside down, and I'm curious as to how well that'd go over.

I can't blame Obama too much for how his presidency has gone so far. His success in the campaign came from his social platform, then once he had it in the bag, we suddenly were in dire need of an economic specialist, which he isn't. That triggered the Blue Dogs to wimp out on Obamacare and kneecap it down to Romneycare. The end result is that this has been a far ttoo conservative administration.

One thing is sure though, voting Republican will not help anything, ever. It can only make things worse.
