snaking a backed up sewer = most disgusting thing ever

In addition to the EWEWEW factor, rusted screws on the drain cover were unhelpful. Could not get the damn snake to turn the corner to the pipe segment I'm guessing the clog is in. Not having succeeded in removing the clog, I poured some drain unclogger in the nearest two access points, it requires not running any water for the next 6 hours; can't run water anyway because the clog is still there and the water would just erupt from my garage floor. Thus no shower to scrub the disgusting feeling off my skin. (I did use soap and a bucket of clean water to sanitize me.) Help? T_T

I suppose it would be an excuse to go to a gym and workout to use their showers. I know how it is not being able to afford a plumber to fix something so simple, I used to know this great guy though who would do pretty much anything for $100 or less. He probably would have charged you very little for just fixing a clogged drain. It's good to know how to do these things yourself though.

When we had to do that, we found a toy brain that I had dropped down the sink about five years earlier. It was all gross looking, but still, it was pretty funny. I dunno, our unclogging has always yielded weird shit. The time before that, a live frog came out.

We had a clogged drain at the animal shelter.
An entire weeks worth of dog poo was in there. Along with one of the dog puzzles (that was the cause of the "clog").

Our poor city worker guys had to dig up the whole line, discovered some new things about the sewer pipes, and clean and flush it out.

My housemate did call a plumber, who arrived in about an hour and charged under $100 (I was amazed). The plumber fixed it in half an hour, then we cleaned for an hour and both finally got our showers. Yay! ^_^ Gonna fall over and sleep now...
