Default Support for upcoming web architectures (like http2 and spdy)

I've recently read some interesting stuff about upgrades to the internet protocol... such as internet 2, http2, and a new protocol called spdy. They're supposed to offer greater web speed, enhanced privacy and more, but some are just ideas of the future. Since the FA gallery is a place I frequent often, I was wondering when the site is going to add support for such new protocols that do exist.

The only one I know of which has recently been put into use is spdy. Which is similar to http but has better compression and a smarter system to load web pages faster. The latest FireFox update enables it by default, and a few websites have implemented it. Will FA be among the ones who will implement spdy support anytime soon? Would be awesome to see the galleries and everything else loading much faster

The last thing FA needs is to add more features when it is miles behind Sofurry, Inkbunny and Furocity in terms of architecture. I'd prefer all the bugs being fixed before adding something like HTTP2 but we all know it will take forever because of how slow we know Yak is.

I work for a company that makes things called Application Delivery Controllers, in the old day we called these Load Balancers. Performance gains come at a cost of a large amount of state tracking, not just of the current connection, but every request on the current connection... needless to say when the rubber hits the road its not often faster. Also, as far as HTTP 2.0, it does not does not exist as a standard yet, and from the roadmap, might not even be out till sometime after 2014. Considering how fast new stuff gets adopted, it might not be viable until sometime after 2016 or so.

Also, these sort of things wont help at all with how fast FA is, because the major holdup, SQL (database) time, will be the same.

So, why implement something that will be a pain in the arse, change again in 6 months, and not even make stuff load faster?

This should be moved to the Suggestions forum.

Even if FA had a competent enough development team, something like that being so new would take a considerable amount of time to catch on.

    FA is barely HTML compliant.

I can guarantee FA will disappear for some reason before it adopts these new protocols, whether that be 2014 or 2016 or 2020.
