Default Can someone help me with this CPU fan thing?

Ok guys, the head/mask I'm making is just too hot for me. I can't be in it more then 15 minutes! I found these tiny fans here,

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replacement-...item3375c7c08a
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replacement-...ht_3949wt_1336

and I'm considering getting one to help cool it down. BUT I've never done this before D: Here are my many main questions:

    1. What kind of battery should I get for those? (hopefully they are on Ebay)
    2. How do I connect the battery to the fan? I've never messed with CPU fans before I have no CLUE if it just CONNECTS of if I have to mess with the wires to make it work.
    3. Is there a way to make the cords/wires from the fan longer? I'd like the hide the battery in my shirt's inside pocket since my mask is so compact, it will barely fit the fan.

Any help you guys can give would be so AWESOME, thank you so much to anyone who is willing to help me out here n_n Thanks in advanced <3

The pic shows a 12 volt fan, it will need a 12 volt supply. the smallest and lightest would be something like aaa cells soldered together, most likely you would want to use a rechargable type cell. One thing to keep in mind that smaller and lighter usually means shorter life between recharges (more complication a recharger will be needed). Yes wires will be involved, to have the battery pack somewhere on your body the wires will have to be lengthened, possibly a small switch installed to turn on and off and a quick disconnect to make changing battery packs easier. Most of this is straight forward and many electronic supply houses will have what you need. Mounting the fan will be the hard part, not sure how the head is built, but for best results you want to have "flow thru" ventilation, either the fan pushes outside cool air to your face and the hot air has vents to leave, or the fan pulls the hot air out with cool air being pulled in.

Some of those 12v fans run just fine, although a bit slower, on 9v. That can be handled by using a common 9v battery, a battery connector from Radio Shack and a bit of soldering. If you wanted to get fancy, you could put a switch in your fursuit head to turn the fans on and off as needed. More runtime can be had by using 2 - 9v batteries in parallel.

As cobalt-blue indicated, you need a path of airflow for the fans to be of any help. There must be openings for the air to either get into the head so it can be exhausted out of the muzzle or get out of the head if you're drawing air in through the muzzle. These must be physical openings, as foam is a terrible media to try to push air through with a dinky fan. That is, unless you used low pore-count reticulated foam. That stuff breaths like crazy.

Hope this helps and I didn't confuse you.
