Actually, that rather depends on the cut of meat. You certainly don't want to put acids on a super-lean strip steak, but a big, thick ribeye with good fat content is just fine.

I just don't like tomatoes that don't have anything done to them. They're good for cooking and making condiments but just eating them is disgusting to me. Have you ever tried a pinch of salt on watermelon? For some reason what you said with the tomato reminded me of that.
