Seeing this and the following comments, I just laughed frankly.

Whats the real difference here between Na'vi kin, wolf kin, furries and all that? and why are so many furs being such hypocrits with this?

"They're huge nerds, they're putting way to much into something that doesnt exist"
Guess what genius? you spend most of your day in some cases looking at human animals.

"They're dressing up and acting like na'vi, it's stupid, and they're making online communities about it!"
Guess what? furries do the exact same thing! and what are we on now? OH! a forum, and main website DEDICATED too furry ary and discussion.. pot, kettle, meet black.

"They're beliving in something that isnt real but claiming it is! that they allways had Na'vi spirits"
Funny that.. how often do I see brand new furs saying the exact same thing, and how many lycanthropics/weres/dragon kin say the same thing?

It's fantasy people, yes, some take it a little too far, but furs do the exact same thing at times, and not long back, people thought furs were retarded for beliving in, acting like and making suits of fictional beings, so might wanna curb the insults and narrow minded views, because you were once in exactly the same boat these guys were in, and in ways we still are.
    Just my two cents there

    Woof woof....

I am absolutely with Da`alrakken and Neonflash.

I thought that furries should be the first ones who understand what they are doing.
Furrys think that they are cute foxes, wolves...whatever animal...as for me I am a dog...a Doberman. But who are we to judge and laugh about people who think that they are Na´vi?

You guys want to be accepted by others...so what about to show some tolerance yourself

As for me...I dont change my mind because of an movie I saw. That is the difference between me and them. I had my mind by myself...I felt always the way I feel. So if this is their way...it should be.

I am really disappointed a bit.

    Barks,

    Rai

I honestly do not understand some of the comments here.... What is the difference between them and when Fursuiters are at cons?
I think fur-suiting is equally stupid.

Assuming all furries are life stylers.
Your bleeding heart speech changes nothing. People will always judge you, especially if you go out of your way to be judged. It's called the real world, you should visit once in a while.

I think the point the defending party is trying to make is that in the eyes of the everyman furries and Na'vi LARPers are the same. We are both weird for liking this stuff. Hell both even wear tails. You just saw the fursuiters of the Avatar fan base. I laughed and thought those people were nuts too. I clicked on the link and thought to myself after two seconds "these people are worse than fursuiters". Then I realized that fursuiters and these guys were pretty much the same thing. So if you don't have a problem with fursuiters then don't criticize these LARPers. Not to drag this out any further but I find it upsetting that in our own search for social acceptance we criticize and make fun of other groups that could be seen as relatives. I don't understand why we push away from each other so much. Like neko and furries. A lot of those people push away from us. In this case it's furries and avatar fans.

Yes, people are always going to judge each other. Those that stray further from the norm get it worse. I would hope anyone associated with the furry community would be a lot less judgmental about other groups this far out. I don't mean you have to defend every group that comes under fire, and you certainly shouldn't if you don't like the group in the first place. I find it very upsetting when someone starts throwing stones at a group and furries jump on board and start chucking them too. It looks bad for us and it doesn't do anything productive.

ROFL this was the most hilarious shit ever! "Fuck you, sky bitch!" *fires arrow* 8D

Actually reminds me of a D&D live action role playing video I saw a while ago where a kid is throwing dice at someone and screaming, "MAGIC MISSILE!" at the top of his lungs.

I laugh at everyone taking anything too far. May it be furries, navis or religious people.

Also, there is a difference between fursuiters, too. You can only compare the fursuiters who are putting on the suit in order to recieve spiritual satisfaction. As in, they "transform" into a form close to what they spiritually feel to be right by putting on these costumes.
There's fursuiters who just put them on cause they find it fun to horse around and be silly because they know the costumes look silly and cute. Some of them even do it to make people laugh, very similar to what a mascot does.

However, I do agree with the fact that people who ask for tolerance and acceptance should be the ABSOLUTELY VERY FIRST ONES who accept and tolerate other groups, especially if their base is so similar. Anything else is very hypocritic and stupid as hell.
Furries literally act like Christianity loathing on other monotheistic religions. It's the same base, just different interpretations and texts.

I find it disgusting that some furries are like "Oh hey, we found people who are even MORE ridiculous than us! Let's make fun of them, that will make us look better!". Very logical.

    Qapla'!

I can't imagine this Na'vi larp is a serious video when they're throwing toilette paper over a tree to commune with nature (contradictory) and the flower orgasm at the end. 8D

    Oh, alright.

My posting was aimed at furries making fun of those guys, not particularly those in the video, but the idea of what it portrays in general.

As someone said earlier, I've heard many furries speaking the exact same words as these guys. They're not different from our spiritual furry friends in any other way than that their "fursona" is a blue cat alien instead of a fluffy fox.

Especially the people who "are" fictional creatures like dragons or such, or mix up their species with angel wings or demon powers should shut up the most, lol. Navis are absolutely not different from mythological or fictional races.

Trust me this has to be a mockumentary. And it's a freaking hilarious one at that.

This covers something that people are actually into. I can see the comparisons to the furry fandom too. We're fans of anthropomorphic animal characters, they are fans of ten foot tall, blue, Indian-like Na'vis. I'm just going to let this one slide.

    Oh yeah... flowergasm...

I wouldn't be surprised if this was real. I mean, look at the fan base of the twilight movies....they made some kind of religion out of it, and then we have that special faith where we have brainwashed alien souls that makes us feel negative feelings....

....Do I need to say more?
