I've seen differant types of hand paws, such as three fingers, four, five
i am curious, which is best and what are the limitations from each number of fingers?

The question is, best for what? I play the piano and want to be able to play in suit so it makes sense that all of the suits for me will have 5 fingers. Unless you specifically need a certain number of fingers to do something special in suit like that I don't think that the number of fingers makes much difference. Most likely, what is best for you will probably be based on what species the suit is and how you want it to look.
In the Star Trek Deep Ppace 9 episode, Q-less, during an auction, the bid was 520, then someone raised a hand with all six fingers, indicating 600. I thought that it was hilarious. I think that you should get as many fingers as possible.
I am posting under the assumption that this is a Star Trek Forum.
I don't believe most of the species people say they are under their avatars. Does that mean people lie just as much about the other information?

Do you have something you need related to Star Trek?
best is probably more based on the quality of the glove making. i have enough dex with my gloves to write, use my touch phone, and a few other things. it's 5 finger but I could do it with other things.
I suppose 3 (1 thumb 2 digits) looks best for those with hooves like antelope. with mammals in depends on the style of the suit.
most mammals do have 4 "fingers/toes" and a thumb way up (the so called dewclaw)
so there is room for 4 or 5 fingers.
What Fay said. Hooved animals, to me, look better with 3 fingers. Same thing goes for things with flippers. but thats just my thoughts
