Hey guys and gals! I'v got a question for you all.

I've been trying to work out how to get to FA United this year. If I can go, it will be my first con. I think I've found a way to make it, but I thought I would ask some questions.

First, I'm under 18. Almost there (17) but not quite. In the rules it said I need a parental consent form, but I haven't found anything about it online. Would my parent have to be there in person to sign a form? Cause that would complicate things.

I was planning on taking Amtrak to Cherry Hill, about 6 miles from the hotel and walking from there. With this plan though, I would only be able to come for one day, and of that one day, for only about 6 hours.

My two questions are these:
Would it be worth it to come in the first place? And if so,
Which day would be the best day to come?

Depends how much the Amtrak costs and how far away you live from the actual event.

Also, I wouldn't suggest walking. It's a dangerous walk from that area (lots of highways). If you can, maybe consider a taxi to there? Or contact the hotel, and see if they have a shuttle/preferred transportation that goes between the Amtrak station and the hotel?

while its a great idea to go.....unless you can stay at least a whole day and enjoy it. I would say its a waste of your money.

Ive been to a few cons before. And the price of getting there is only balanced out by the time you spend. Not the fun you have. If you spend the cash to go there for a few hours and then come home, then you probably wont have had time to do much more than run around like a headless chicken and TRY to see some things let alone do them.

@ Fletchprint: I think the total cost was about 160 dollars for both the Amtrak ticket to and from and for the FAU ticket. 0.0*

@ Catalina: Thats what I thought. After all, 160 dollars for 6 hours at a hotel? Probably not the best choice in spending. (Teardrop)

The only reason I would be able to be there 6 hours is calculation. With the train coming and leaving times, and taking into account the time to walk between places... meh. I think I only checked Saturday.

I am not sure what you are talking about with Amtrak, but the only service to Cherry Hill via a Train is New Jersey Transit, which you can catch from 30th Street Station, in Philadelphia. There are no direct connections from the station to the Hotel, though there is a bus that runs right by it, provided you catch a different train. I would say you can catch a cab and get on the Patco High Speed Line to Haddonfield, NJ where you can get a bus there to the Hotel. Otherwise, I don't know what to tell you, but if you are talking about mass transit, I am the cat that can help you out. =P I do say call the hotel and see if they have a shuttle.. but that is up to you. Lemme know if you need more information about it. =^.^=

( Incase you were interested, from the Water Rand Transportation Center in Camden, NJ you can catch the 457 bus all the way to the intersection of Fellowship Rd, and Rt 73 which is a block from the hotel. )
