We Can Hide Comments on FA Now

Why. 90% of it is going to be artists being self-conscious about critique or people getting rid of opinions that don't agree with their own.

I liked that FA was one of the sites to not have this feature because it meant we were at least one small step away from murry purry hugbox central. Why not spend the time on, I don't know, the new interface? Or making sure comments thread correctly god dammit.

Not everyone is trying to improve their art. Some people draw for fun. I think it's rude to critique a picture on this site when the artist isn't asking for one.

I think that is a good improvement and there is no reason to complain about it. It is the person's OWN submission, if they want to hide comments then they are entitled to do such. In the event something serious is wrong with it (like animal abuse or something if it is a photo or art theft if drawing) then you can report it.

That is why. People ask for it, then moan and call people names when they give it. Now you can't call people out on drama, or anything because the second you disagree with someone, your comments get blocked for trolling.

Yeah, it depends. People will abuse the feature, for sure. But being able to block nasty comments will help make FA more hospitable for people who don't deserve them, which I'm sure must be a fairly large problem for the staff to implement this feature.

Well there's got to be a reason if you're being constantly harassed. I've never seen a single instance of someone having their submissions flooded with negative comments unless their picture was either a joke picture, against the rules, or just plain out fucking terrible (in which case why would you post that)

That is why you can block users from commenting, if they are flooding.

Well if you know a particular troll, then block them preemptively. Problem solved. After they make a negative comment? Block them, ignore comment.
