This was my first furcon ever, and I have to say I was not disappointed. I was very scared, bringing my human to frolic with other furs, but I made one cardinal mistake in my experiences this weekend.

I let myself be shy! ): Unfortunately I was scared of how "cliquey" furs that knew one another felt, so I refrained from hugging strangers, and even bothering suitors for photos. ):

But even though I totally derped on myself, my mate and I had a GREAT time. (: Can't wait till next year <3

yeah it was my first con too I pretty much did the same thing but I still had an awesome time. Everyone was really cool and friendly. But yeah much fun was had

Conventions (large and small) can be overwhelming, especially for your first. We're glad to hear you had a great time, and if we can do anything to help make FAU5 a better experience for you next year please don't hesitate to ask.

It's a con luv. Like every experience in life, some are scary. But now that you've dipped your toes in the water, I'm glad you enjoyed what you found.

I dipped my toes in the water, and it was absolutely cold! I want a heated pool or a jacuzzi. xD!!

There is no need to be shy... Short of glomping a suiter or tackling a random passerby, we are all one big family and like being around each other.. ( even though some con-funk can be annoying ). Hugs and pictures are commonplace and so are parties in rooms.. ( Yea Fire Hydrant room..that was us! ). No need to hide in a shell and let it all pass you by, because it is already bad enough the convention lasts 3 days. You have to make the most of what you can. I am glad you all had a good time, but whenever you get to another one.. just be yourself and have fun. Most of us don't bite ( unless you stay in a hotel room, or catch a staff member offguard. rofl ). In any event, hope to see you at the convention next year... where the theme of the whole thing will be the 'Mafia.' Who knows, maybe there will be some well dressed furries there. Bwahahah. xD!
