    Why hello!
I am here for some help on an assignment I have at school-
A disclaimer - I apologize in advance if anyone sees this as very out of place, or rude, but I am honestly coming from an academic standpoint, and need points to bring for my assignment.
Because I have no knowledge, and thought I would come to a community that has the most passion and knowledge, as well as opinions- all which I need!

    So here it is,
    and I know it's not pleasant as many may hear it a lot but;

I am writing part of a very important assignment (my final actually!) in Animal Issues, and something that many people seem to look over here in Canada, is the lack of laws around bestiality in particular.
While we have most of those issues there covered, we also wanted to touch on the subsection of sexualized animals, especially ones in an anthropomorphic sense.
I have my own thoughts on this, but I thought I should hear it from the brains of people who are within a community that experiences prejudices, and may see these things a lot.
My first question would be a why this happens, and in regards to the animal community- is it okay?

I would love some thoughts, and I could maybe form some questions through that!

I am yet again sorry if I offend anyone, I have lost touch with friends who may have been able to give some good opinions, and google is just the worst!

    Thank you <3

I think Canada has laws for animal cruelty so not sure what's the issue here. I mean I don't really understand your question.

For what class are you writing this? What type of assignment is it?

I don't want to get graphic at all, and it's okay if this is deemed inappropriate and removed because it's a very uncomfortable subject.
This is for an issues and ethics class in regard to animals, and I need to research both sides of an issue of choice and all it brings.
I chose bestiality because it is a difficult subject for many people, and there are no clear laws on it, to the point where it happens, but it's fine because certain lines haven't been crossed. I got into the whole animal anthro subject because a friends relative did not protect his laptop very well, and I saw that these things existed- since then I will stumble on them now and again- but I digress- My professor pointed out the sexualizing of animals, especially female ones, within advertisements, and it all just is like *why does this happen?*
What I'm looking for is hazy, and I think I may have jumped the gun a little out of wanting to get this started, but here goes-
The point I want to focus on most is animal anthropomorphic sexualization (in this instance, as I have a lot of stuff up for the other parts), as a community who have personas that are animal anthropomorphic in nature, I feel you might see this the most whether or not you have a part in it.
I suppose my first question would be what are your views on these happenings and why.
If these boards are not the place, I can be messaged, I want to ask the awkwardness but don't want to cross a line, which is hard for me, I am just way too curious...

Nothing has gone over any lines so far, so I see no problem with the thread continuing.

Would a shorter version of your question boil down to: What do we, in the furry community, think of the practice of making non-human characters appear sexualized, or what makes them attractive?

I suppose that is a good place to start!
The main thing I want to get out of this is the pros and cons of -is it okay to sexualize animals- obviously including those with just certain qualities, I am just grouping it all together for the assignments sake. I am just going, right now, on the knowledge that it exists within the main or subsections of the furry community (sorry, I am unsure how it all works!), and as people who see this often, what you have gathered from it all.
This is animal issues and ethics, so I am trying to separate the human from it.
Which is very difficult because we are the ones who do these things, aha.

How do you feel about women breasts getting sexualised? Some people are into it and that's it. Our kink has very little to do with bestiality, if that worries you. Most people who watch anthro porn are actually disgusted by bestiality. I know this might seem strange for an outsider, but really anthropomorphic characters are nothing like real animals, they have human mind. They more like a different fantasy race of humans, for example like elves or dwarfs.

That's definitely another way to think about it.
I suppose there are two sides to this, as some may focus mainly on the appearance, and less the mind, but it is important!

Humans are animals. We are a species of chimpanzee that evolved differently. Some dogs are really hawt but i would not go past second base if they were part of the family and i did not know them well enough.

I think the reason people advertise a sexy anthropomorphic animal in any form is to get a reaction. Think about it, sex in the media is over everything to the point where it's not a hush hush thing anymore. People are realizing that the generations are overlooking their sexy adds of people because it's considered normal.

Where as if you use an animal it makes people take that second look.

I don't think it has anything to do with the 'furries'

As far as bestiality goes... I believe you are asking the wrong people. XP
