I don' think it's the words that hurt. Or the honesty.

I think it's that in a normal conversation with another person you can kind of tell how the other is feeling through body language or how the conversation is going.

I think in this case he was hurt because he set the tone of the conversation as friendly and open. The artist failed to understand the tone of how the conversation was going, and the transition of kind polite conversation going to full out attack was a bit un-needed.

It's just another example of people not picking up on social cues.

As far as growing a thicker skin goes. I'd rather educate the socially inept on basic interaction.

While I do agree with this entirely, there can also be other points of view.

Just as a loose example: If someone is out there doing a ridiculous guitar display, and someone rips onto the stage and starts playing, it may throw off that person's groove. It's all about context.

Personally you should have asked in PM for critiques, unless the stream was specifically for the purpose of the broadcasting individual, to critique submissions. Everything has a place and time.

FurAffinity is just filled with scum. Well, the whole furry community is. But it's worse on FA than anywhere else in my experience.
No matter where you go though, don't idolize popular artists and treat them like gods. They feed off of attention and putting everyone else down. And most of the time their art isn't as godly as people believe anyway.

You nailed it people seem to think their better than most their NOT their art is ok at best and its all the same program the use - 2D artist get the SHAFT on FA witch is BS ass their art is so amzing and takes hard core skill to get them created granted i know it takes skill for flash to...but 2D takes far more time...and yet we get left..... stinks also i dont draw porno as much as the others witch is all they draw... you agree with me? lol

I do not like bullies. The high road is much better. Don't pay attention to them. *instantly becomes hypocrite by punching random bully* Eh, whatever.

How is this? All I do is wander around looking at art. What is everyone else doing? Sorry for double post, not sure on that rule here.

Indeed. Internet anonymity has allowed great progress, but also great regression. The bullies and racists et al have become emboldened, especially in theist year or two.

There's also the ability for these like-minded indivuals to gather in one place, where they bolster their own support. They feed themselves like a demented human centipede.

Back in the day, they would be (mostly) forced to restrain themselves, due to islanding. Few around to share their views, forced them to either adapt or remain isolated in their cause.

Right, but the corollary is also true. Ostracized and demonized, fully harmless groups like furries can now come together more easily. But the powers of the echo chamber are quite real, and quite dangerous as we've seen.

This is why I mostly never talk big artists and some you tubers. Jayztwocents is infamous for being a massive prick to fans or any criticism. But the worst case for me, was when werckless eating went around calling anyone gave up watching them trolls.

I'm not all that interested in streams, but I can see an argument for both cases in the original topic.
Regardless of the intentions, I've seen a few instances where people jump into other people's streams to advertise themselves.
In fact a friend of mine recently posted a piece of art on FB, and one of the first comments they got was someone posting their own commission prices...
If the nature of the stream was for the artist (popular or not) to exhibit their art, and someone comes in suggesting they (along with anyone else in the stream) take a look at other art. Understandably they'd be pissed.

As for popular artists being dicks, it's a pretty common phenomenon overall.
I wouldn't fault artists specifically though since most popular musicians, actors, celebrities, politicians, etc
Any group doused in fame really tend to go down the proverbial 'power corrupts' route.

There's a few things in this thread I find distasteful, but there's too many for me to bother addressing each one xD
But essentially there's two sides to a coin, just as there's two sides to a story. And many many ways to interpret it.
