The former is probably because of the latter, and it's something that can be fixed with time.
I'm sorry to hear you've not been well, I've always respected you on here.
With me it was a matter of maturing, kicking psychological addictions, overcoming depression and the like.
It wasn't fun but it't about over, the only thing still biting me is a game dev job I may let pass through my inadequacy. It would be so much nicer, pay so much better than what I do now, and give me room to grow and expand both profesionally and personally.
Thing is, I haven't put the work into it and that's kinda a pre-requisite for staying on the dev team.
I do see what you are saying now, in the light of genes being the things that builds everything from the ground up.
But this is all more or less...assumptive, right? Nothing has been specifically found per se, but the science points that way and bounces off lots of behavioral traits that stem from sexual maturity and a bunch of sciencey buzz words I'm not aware of. (Not sarcasm. I won't even pretend, I'm terrible at raw, uncut biology and general sciences, so to speak.)
I will agree that it is quite irritating. I suppose they assume that making evolution seem somehow planned or omnipotent will reduce conflict between evolutionary theory and theology via intelligent design? It might also be related to the way the media handles evolution. Or at least the fact that the media sometimes exaggerates what science finds.
Although I do think what is taught in elementary/high school could also play a role, depending. It could be that evolution is covered too hastily, such that the "wrong but sounds right" version of evolution is covered for the sake of time. This is just based off of my personal experiences.
Yeah I know. Well, I guess I'm an engineer and I'm not 100% well-read on evolution, but I understand it isn't some self-aware process which consciously "makes shit work". Actually, I think I saw a paper once arguing that what proliferates can be subject to randomness. Like two species of near-equal fitness could be competing for the same food supply, in which case dominance over one specie over the other isn't even entirely deterministic. Again, I'm not sure because it's been a little bit since I had biology or read much of this stuff lol.
Trans-able is a controversial new term for people who feel alienated from a particular body part or section of the body, and want to remove or change that part of the body in some way. Most people see this as those people wanting to become "disabled," though these people themselves often don't see it that way.
