Actually, I hate the Wii too, but it's the only console out there that isn't just trying to be a craptastic computer knockoff, so it can live. Besides, about the only thing that comes from the Wii is Mario, Pokemon, and casual games(though they've got some good other games too, just not enough)...

Gaming isn't dead yet(sadly) but it really, REALLY needs to die, and soon. A world with only the computer and Wii is a much better world than the horrific crap we have now because of the terrible ports that are being forced down our throats.

Are you using the current release of 9.11(assuming you're running a new ATI card) or just one of the betas? I'm also guessing you've done the basics of making sure everything is up to date, so have you tried a reformat yet?

I used to play it a good bit, but haven't done much lately. And I agree, 4e is pretty terrible, 3.5 is pretty much the best addition I've played. As for the BOEF, you could check online. Just so you know that, while it is kinda interesting, it's nothing all that great.

A few suggestions: Any of the EeePCs, Winds, or Aspire Ones if you'd be interested in a netbook type of thing. For subnotebooks there's an Samsung nc20, Asus n10j, and the HP DV2z. All of those are extra light and portable. I currently have the DV2 and it's a surprisingly good little laptop...

Bards start out pretty good, but in later levels they really start falling behind. Gadgeteers start out crappy, and really shine in the later levels. A dedicated mage is still better though.

I'm actually doing a run through of Wizardry 8 right now. Biggest flaw with the game is that it relies on your CPU for most of its processes. So the faster your CPU, the faster enemies respawn, the game runs, etc. etc. Really great game though, one of the best out there.

If you're wanting a laptop that both looks great and would be great for school and gaming I'd recommend a Clevo/Sager laptop.
