Only the US constitution, and the law of the county where the site is hosted are relevant.
I've just described the rules how they apply to FA.
Trust me, I used to moderate this site. If a user is lying about their age, and there's no reason for the site to suspect the user is underage, the site...
Don't think this will stop people with malicious intentions.
It will however prevent a lot of genuine users from joining.
The loss / gain ratio is pretty out of balance there. You may block 2 bad users per month, but at the same time, you'd block at least 50% of genuine registrations.
My point is that the proposed phobia means that people experience actual physical distress from seeing images like that.
And that's the phobia that isn't officially recognized. That's the whole point. It's just a silly hype.
I'm not saying people can't feel uncomfortable seeing certain things...
So tell me, what do you feel when looking at this plant?
Excessive / persistent fear? Significant distress or impairment?
Also, please don't call me ignorant for having a different opinion. That, in turn, is ignorant and rather impolite.
Are you aware of how the US law works, regarding minors viewing adult content on your site, Ciderfine?
As long as the user claims to be of age, as a site owner, you're fine.
If there's any doubt the user isn't of age, as long as you remove adult access for that user, as a site owner, you're...
Didn't you read what I said? The quarantine ideas and the immediate upload shotdown are both unrealistic ideas.
As for your second point, FA never required age verification other than a "Yes I am of age" confirmation during registration. Verifying a user's age is a legal hellhole that's, again...
It's not an opinion, it's a fact.
Ask any doctor. Trypophobia is not officially recognized as a phobia. There is no such thing as "a phobia (intense, irrational fear, or anxiety) of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes or bumps.". Sure, the images are nasty, but it's not a phobia. It...
"Normal" moderators can't single-handedly shutdown uploads for the whole site. The people that can aren't online 24/7.
That's basic common sense.
It's not even a real, officially recognized phobia.
It's just some sketchy photoshops that people find nasty to look at. Give something...
As a former mod, I just had to reply.
Both of these suggestions are as unrealistic as it gets.
FA doesn't have the manpower required to validate every single new registration. It's rather ridiculous to even ask that. The sheer amount of activity in both registrations and uploads can't...
