    Need Sci-Fi category

I wanna hear a response from an FA staffer or coder about this ... ergo, file it under the category for "how hard can it be to do"? I know the mainsite search is (perennially) offline, so I don't know how many FA submissions get tagged with a 'Sci-fi' or similar label. But I'm still...

    Reg: Activity log

Visibility = self and FA site staff; I agree with that.

    Reg: Activity log

Not necessarily, dA has a page which links ALL recent comments, journals, etc. by a given user.

    Don't bother counting.

    That's also true....

    Need Sci-Fi category

RE: Sci-Fi category? FA must be the only art site without a general Sci-Fi option. Sci-Fi theme option GET!

    A question of copyright

That's what happens when you type before doing research. US copyrights used to last for about 14 years or so, but now (with the DMCA) they last ... well, a few days short of forever.

    Need Sci-Fi category

So as long as we're debating which of FA's Ferrox update or Duke Nukem Forever will be released first, can we have a "Sci-fi" submission category in the meantime? I was submitting a drawing of a mecha, and discovered I had nowhere to place it -- I couldn't place it under 'Anime' because it's...

    A question of copyright

True true, Beethoven's sonata is older than the concept of copyrights itself.

    Filtering Mature vs. Adult content

And one artist I've PM'ed recently says that they label just about everything they submit to FA as 'adult'.

    New administration security measures

Er, yeah, whatever you say. And then we'll all wonder why there's never an admin around when you need one....

    Filtering Mature vs. Adult content

Most people (myself included) would agree with that, but Molotov has a point, they can't actually be enforced without some kind of official standard or definition on what the levels are, and last I checked, there is none beyond "user discretion".

    Filtering Mature vs. Adult content

Figures. I know dA has guidelines defining what they consider "adult" content... and you're right, I don't remember seeing any specifics on how FA defines the two terms. An quick alternate idea -- enable browsing of mature/adult content, but just the thumbnails are filtered out? (I've...

    New administration security measures

In theory, the simplest way to deal with a brute-force attack is to take the "brute" out of it, i.e. have some kind of flood control on logins. Say three strikes, and temporarily suspend any further logins from the given IP (or bearing the given username). Time is any hacker's enemy; with a...

    Filtering Mature vs. Adult content

After signing up here on FA and +Watching people I already know from dA, I was a little bit surprised to discover that for one of them, their FA gallery was filled primarily with yiff and adult content. I suppose it shouldn't have been a surprise in the furst (err... first) place since...

    How did you discover FA?

Me, that's easy. Several people I watch over on dA have FA accounts too, so after looking up one of them the other day I felt like checking it out. Pity that was the day it went down.

    Just flew in from dA...

...and with the bad FA weather today, my wings are tired. Signed up here earlier today because several of the people I watch over on dA are spread over here as well, and since I have a backlog of work to upload, this'll give me a chance to review and polish up the scans. I took three years...

    HACKED!?

Bad timing indeed. (You can just call me "Strata" for short, because I go by the name 'Stratadrake' virtually everywhere else, but I wasn't sure about the registration process here, so I guess I'm stuck with this nick on the forum side, not sure if I should register my proper username because...

    HACKED!?

Agreed (albeit with proper language). I just registered today, so you can imagine how much stuff I'M waiting to post! (And what's FA:U ?) I don't know if this helps, but I know of some sites (like BugZilla) with an option that restricts a user's login session to whatever IP they logged in...
