"Bandwagon" Harassment - We need a way to stop it

As I stated before, this was actually a previously known and popular female artist, that decided to create a cute character. She uploads the art goes under the new character's name, and probably talks with a few friends who are also populart artists that went "EEEEEEEE! CUTE" so this bandwagon...

"Bandwagon" Harassment - We need a way to stop it

Parfait is Spazzykoneko. So of course friends that know that artist would shower that person with gift art when she submitted. But it's interesting how much of a double standard it is when the artist is female versus male. I just wonder why people CARE so much though. Like if they died they'd...

Inking with Open Canvas Progress Shots

I decided to do a screen cap of my brush and eraser settings. A lot of people are afraid to use the eraser and use white, but you can easily tweak the eraser to create the edges needed and using it on your stylus in Open Canvas. For the ink settings I disable transparency, I put the min...

A cartoonist if you ever read the Survival guide will tell you life drawing is important. That's not the problem. I don't understand why you're fixated on that guy when there are plenty of other people wanting to take critiques that are ignored? You're giving that guy more attention and...

I'm actually more neutral Niiku. I think it goes both ways, it's interesting how hall of shame is an anon account complaining that other artists should respect what they say but don't have the guts to say it themselves on their regular account. It's because they're afraid of being banned...

If you don't think you'll ever be good as an artist - Message of Inspiration

I'm glad the book helped you out. Some of the concepts of what he was saying I didn't just pick up at first, but the more I worked on my art, things said in the book started making sense. I guess age and experience are always good things. I now keep that book with me where ever I go, I guess...

Yeah but at the same time, the reason I'm agreeing with Themocaw's statement is that it's almost always the same usual suspects revolving themselves around the situation, saying the same things that aren't new. I like the fact wtf_fa is off site too, more fun and funny that way. I do think...

    Photoshop Vs. Painter

Yeah should add in to agree with Rezzy about file saving too. Photoshop saves images in more formats and better than Painter. PNG for example is available in Photoshop, it's not in Painter. Both programs should work together though Photoshop doesn't recognize Painter's native rif format, Painter...

    Tablet Tips

On XP I've had some problems. Usually if it gets too bad I restart the Tablet service in the administrator console and I don't have anymore problems. If that doesn't work usually restarting the PC will. This is really rare though. Usually most issues are resolved with current drivers.

    The Draw Furry Site

The furry hands and paws one are helpful, but I think studying real animal anatomy helps overall.

Open Canvas is free, least the network version. Look at the Open Canvas thread to get the program in the Feedback forum. It really depends on your make, most tablets will do fine with any graphic program but wacom has the best support and drivers for various ones. If you have a wacom...

    Photoshop Vs. Painter

Painter is more intuitive to me because it follows natural media more. http://wikivid.com/index.php/Painter Photoshop and other digital paint programs don't properly follow the rules of pressure an opacity. Other programs "freeze" at a certain opacity until the second stroke is...

    Photoshop help wanted >.<

You would work on the following, you'd make a selection with a magic wand, and adjust the tolerance appropriately. If you have open areas where the lines don't meet use the polygon lasso tool. Once you make the selection switch to your color layer, and use the paintbucket/fillbucket tool...

    arms and composition

Trying to copy line for line without understanding the form is being a reference junkie. Most people still use reference in order to get things to look believable. Also, not a sir :P

    arms and composition

Well you just have to start drawing the figure as to what you see out there or get books on figure drawing. You have to observe what people do with their arms naturally or yes, when doing it from imagination it looks wretched if yo don't learn to capture that information. What do people do...
