    Arshes Nei's Sketch Blog

I forgot I told Rose that I did draw her character but didn't finish. I do this often, so I'll just dump the sketch here to show I fail as much as I "succeed" [attachment=2311]

PHEW! I've made a lot of progress, but one last thing...

Hey Rose, interesting to see I inspired you. Just a few things, I know this concept sounds boring and I keep repeating it. Start worrying about the larger shapes first. Does the body look like a cube, cylinder, sphere? Then you start working in details. This practice is frustrating at first...

    Milk's Sketchlog [crits welcome]

If you thicken up the back part of the leg a bit I think you'll be fine [attachment=2297] I forgot to link this site last time: http://graphic.org.ru/tors.html The site is in Russian, just follow the links on the right, they're some scans of Gottfried Bammes, excellent reference for...

    Milk's Sketchlog [crits welcome]

Hey Milkie, I did this redline for you to help you out. I did my own kinda thing with the feet but you'll figure out how to fix it if you look at the notes. Basically, use the tibia (tibia/fibula combo - large bones in the lower leg), the forefront of the leg bone as a divider for the feet...

    White Spots in Coloring

Well Rose, as I said before, once you learn how to render a sphere, cylinder and cube the rest gets "easier". It really doesn't matter if it's traditional or digital. Wolfbye's method does work or you can use the Polygon lasso tool if you don't have a tablet and just mouse color. There...

    Art help forums.

VCL, Jaxpad, probably have sections just for critiques. They're also other furry related art communities. YNA was actually created to be a more of a critiques type submission area too

    What the crap?

Understandable, I think that's a self moderation thing, I'd love to see some quality control, but I'd rather that fall on the user's discretion and well .... (other than the TOS trying to eliminate the myspace aspect) The problem is though sure there isn't quality control over art and...

Would You Pay For My Work

No, I would not pay for your work, but there may be someone out there that does. Also, you should draw for IMPROVEMENT, then you can profit.

    What the crap?

yak, A bit of disagreement here, just because he took his own photo and did a very quick job with it, doesn't discount it as art. A lot of people just use the magic wand and floodfill a picture yet they get to stay. What about commissions done by other people, that are reposted, for you by...

    What the crap?

Umm if you start using that argument about visible profile you just gave users a way to be abusive just because of some stupid status due to popularity. This is just aside from Sonderjen's ban. I just find the argument ridiculous that because someone is hight profile or popular they shouldn't be...

    What the crap?

They were considered harassment because someone else linked the submissions to his shout page. That's harassment but the images are not. If someone feels like posting "I'm gonna draw what I want that doesn't directly violate the TOS" that's their right. Simply because the other user didn't like...

    What the crap?

I'm sorry but no. Admins made a poor judgment call on this one. (aside from the ban on a user which was not related). For the dragon thing: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/874629/ The submissions is TWO MONTHS OLD The user decided to start up crap A WEEK AGO...

Who likes the 2000's TMNT than the 80's TMNT?

I prefer the new one to the 80's one, I can do without Fast Forward though it does have its moments.

    I am Legend

I think the ending was blah, I also heard the scene was reshot to have those two actors at the end. I'll have to agree that the vampires did look like Bad Poser models (Poser as in the program XD) as someone else stated elsewhere. I think Will Smith and "Samantha's" performances obviously saved...

Guide on Giving and Receiving Critiques

RE: A guide on giving critiques One of the reasons I seldom give critiques on these galleries anymore have to do with sheep. By sheep I mean sometimes it's not even the artist that has a fit over it but, other users browsing comments and wanting to start an argument because somehow you...

    Alternatives to OC?

Because Open Canvas NEEDS a Tablet plugged in if you have tablet drivers installed. It's trying to detect your tablet during startup. If you have a tablet installed it's going to look for it. You may want to reinstall your tablet drivers just in case and make sure you have the latest ones.

    brush in photoshop

What are your Brush presets? I only see what the basic brush looks like. That could very well be the reason you have irregularities if you aren't looking at the presets this brush has. [attachment=2257] This should give you an idea of what I'm referring to. (I'm using CS3 in this example)
