Ps3. It's now the best deal on the market, and it's got the best specs and arguably the best exclusives. That and everyone already has a wii or 360, but there are a lot of people who didn't get a ps3 before because of the price.

Usually match up is the key phrase. I can think of a few other exceptions off the top of my head, although most of those are transgenders that choose their ideal gender.
