Twas decades ago, of course I’m fine! *decides not to tell the story of the time I lost a leg to @DRGN Juno*

No, child, I wasn’t slain. Merely had to have an arrow removed from my left arm. Unpleasant, but luckily not lethal.

Of course. So there Sir Bailey was, surrounded by archers on all sides— Hold on, I’m getting ahead of myself. Twas about one or two decades ago, when I was but a squire (and had never heard of PvP island. Or TFs). I was hammering a new sword on the anvil for my Knight, Sir Bailey, when suddenly...

Panicking leaves your fate to chance. Should you get lucky, of course you’ll escape. Tis a given. But maintaining your head keeps your fate in your own hands. I know which I’d prefer. *grabs and brandishes needle* How do you like somewhat dubious medical professionals jabbing needles...

*covers you with oversized shield* Defending yourself.

    Predators and Prey

*hands you shield* Think: what’s more likely to save you from needly death? Panicking? Or defending yourself?

    Predators and Prey

Indeed! Allow me to tell you of brave Sir Bailey and the siege of Grand Castle’s courtyard... But first clean yourself up. Dignity, while not a core virtue, is somewhat important.

Tis not I who came across this information. Twas my Knightly mentors before me, who learned from his mentor before him, allllll the way back the line till you reach the greatest philosophers of the past. I merely listened to and trusted my elders. Credit me not with brilliance!

    Predators and Prey

The world is indeed crazy. The truth is often stranger than the fiction we tell ourselves to make sense of it all. But in order to be a good Knight, you must have an unwavering loyalty to two things: truth, and justice. I imagine you’ll find the latter easy, but facing the unvarnished truth is...

To be technically correct, you just ate berries, That makes you at least an omnivore, and thus, someone allowed to fight for the prey. Indeed. Predators aren’t inherently evil. No species or group is.

    Predators and Prey

Now, if I myself was merely prey or predator, I would fight for my side, as to do otherwise would be treachery. Luckily, I’m an omnivore, and as such have license to fight for whomever I choose. You have that same liberty.

    Predators and Prey

My dear Ssaannttoo, I myself often fight for the predators. We Knights do not engage in tribal affiliations, but instead always fight for the weak, innocent, and defenseless. Usually that is the prey, but occasionally the predators find themselves overrun.

Hmm. An ascertainment of another’s virtue can be tricky. *squints at @Alys_0_0* You did give me fruit, at no benefit to yourself. *turns to Ssaannttoo* I’m inclined to believe her. What makes you suspect foul play?

    Predators and Prey

Oh! Excuse my paranoid misinterpretation of thine action, fair comrade. *slices fruit with sword* *noms (carefully)*

    Predators and Prey

Hmmm. I may be trying to teach you too quickly. *lifts you to your paws* Self-control is important for all Knights, as the trials and temptations of the world are many. You must learn to deny your impulses, so that you are unfazed when torments, tribulations, or even lures off the way of honor...

*bashes PvP door open* Enemies of law and good beware! For it is I! The chivalrous Knight, prepared to— Ssaannttoo! Panic is unbefitting a squire!
