I've seen a few nice, realistic ones, but they're few and far between. I would have to agree with this. Plus, I'd rather spend the money on other things. It's just not very high-up on my priorities list.

I'm not familiar with CS3 (my latest version is still CS), but I'm pretty sure that the strokes themselves are always raster and the path is the only thing that remains a vector. You could always do the stroke and then use that as a guide for tracing a new vector path.
