Shell of the egg and the nutrients are made by the mother, but that's irrelevant .It's the DNA inside that determines if it's a chicken egg or not. There is no religion that originally states it. It may marely be an accomodation to modern standarts. But that's just an effort not to look stupid...

Yeah, the old LEGO, with small part were the shit. That crap they produce now... It's better to buy some action fidures or model, they won't break to pieces but have the same functionality ;/ But Lego TECHNIC are still the best. I can't imagine a better toy.
