Who did you buy from or who do you sugest to buy from?

Well, I made my own fursuit, but you can go online and see what is available. I am hesitant to choose one over another because if the maker screws up or scams you, you would blame me. A lot depends on what your ultimate budget is. There are makers who won't touch a fursuit for less than a...

Finally starting to save for a velour fursuit. Need advice

You might try looking at seal fur, too. It is sleek.

    Dying faux fur

It depends a lot on the material you are trying to dye. Alcohol based dye is used normally for most synthetic fibers as it allows the dye to penetrate. Other dyes just sit on the surface and rub off. Wig dye might work, too.

    Monofilament for whiskers

Weed eater line. The thinner stuff is too easy to bend and it kinks when it does.

    Sewing machine for Fursuiting?

A lot of times you can get an older machine that has all metal parts inside. I picked up a machine from the 70s the other day that worked fine. I got it at the Goodwill Bargain Barn for $9 plus tax.

    Fur issues

I don't think that is always true. I made my fursuit and it came out pretty well. You can see it on my FA page. I'm the same user name as here. When I made my suit, I just did a crap ton of research, then went for it. I didn't sew the head, but hot glued it. I did have a lot of experience...

How many yards of fur would I need for one fursuit head?

As Fursuitsandmore said, about a yard or two. You can sometimes order half yard swatches for accent colors. I think I'm Stuffed Furs will do this. It's great if you need accent colors and such. I'm a big fan of getting decent fur, because it is what everyone will see when you get your suit...

    Help on hoof hands

You might try contacting Dream Visions Creations. I think they make these. It's a whole lot easier to buy them than make them because of the cost and time of making a mold.

Pros and cons of resin base

OK... Pros are that the shape is there and you don't have to sculpt one. You can modify the shape with foam slivers before you fur it up. You have fixed attachment points which can come in handy for things like ventilation fans or lights with their battery packs. Moving jaws are easier to...

    Moving Ears

I think a fixed point anchor would work best. You could attach a string to a point not on the head, like your collar behind your neck. The other end would be attached to some mechanism that pulls the ear down when the string is pulled, and is spring loaded to return to the ear to the previous...

How to save the fursuit parade

I help run Fangcon which is in Birmingham, Alabama from January 9th-13th (shameless plug lol). We are a smaller con and this isn't a problem for us, but I have given it considered thought as I communicate with con chairs from large cons. The problem with the parades is that it is like herding...

An idea for making a fursuit head that can do facial expressions

I have seen heads that had little computer like random action generators that did things like move the ears. I remember one that was activated by loud sound. I have also seen electronic digital eyes that looked like they were blinking. It would be possible to put some actuators that would...
