    Angry Respect and loyalty.

    (Cross-posted from my journal)

Am I the only one with a sense of FUCKING LOYALTY AROUND HERE?!

Thus far I've lost at least 3 comrades this year. Might be more. I'm not gonna name anyone because it will attract unwanted attention and then there'll only be even more wah-wah about the whole situation than there already was earlier.

Perpetually, I have to sit through treason committed by other people, then they lay all the blame on me like it was all my fault to begin with. Do I LOOK like the type to provoke fights to you?! It's time people learned something called "respect", "equality" and "loyalty"!

The reasons behind these "treasons" I speak of are as follows:

    1. Bullshitting me with emo whining and constant dissing.
    2. Sudden and complete abandonment for no reason whatsoever.
    3. Same as above, but excused away with something retarded.
    4. Committing shit behind my back after being absent for a long time without notifying me.

This is seriously tearing on my forbearance and I am FED UP with it!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot another thing - People tend to not listen to me at all when I'm giving out critical advice.

'Comerades'? Dude, for a second I thought you where in the military or something. This just sounds like what human beings do. My advice; it's un-preventable. The less you care the less it will hurt you.

Almost all of my friends are too proud to take criticism, so I know how annoying that is. Especially when you think the advice is fair.

As for this "treason" business, why worry about it?If someone treats you like shit, just tell them to GTFO. Taking it personally only pisses you off, it doesn't make them feel worse about it.

Not really. You may consider it "critical", but they might not.

    ^ Exactly.

The only way to get your advice "heeded" is to let the bullshit hit them bad; that, or not even provide it unless its someone you absolutely know will follow it. In the event that they don't, just know it's also there choice whether or not to go with it. However, it still is a kick in the pisser, right?

Also ... Unfortunately, no, your not the only one with a sense of respect and loyalty. ^.-

@ Bambi: Seeing that 360 ID on your profile tells me otherwise.

BoT: That's the kicker right there. People inevitably do the opposite of what I tell them, then don't learn anything from the experience.

If you're yelling/screaming/cursing at them, of course they're not going to listen to you. And even if you are being polite, that still doesn't mean they HAVE to listen to you. Remember, your opinion is NOT better than their's, nor does it supersede. They can take it into consideration, but they don't have to follow it simply because you tell them what to do/how to do it.

Not to be rude, but from what I'm seeing, you really are full of yourself, and think yourself better than others, and therefore, they should follow your suggestions all the time.

Quite the opposite. I lately found myself giving advice to friends the past few weeks, with few of them actually following them and thus landing themselves in shituations (compound of shit + situations).

Well, it's up to THEM, really. As I said before, they DON'T have to follow your advice if they don't want to. I just see that you are sticking your nose (and opinion) where it's not wanted.

Therefore the term "critical advice". The particular situation I'm thinking of equates to the (metaphorical) dilemma of telling an indecisive suicidal man if he really should jump off that rooftop he's standing on or not.

It's just the way of people. You can find decent crowds, and you can find mediocre crowds. Some people just want to enjoy themselves or have some fun, which throws out the possibility of any advice you may share being well-received.

It's really hard to say much though as the situations mentioned are completely vague. I can't really judge if you're being overly critical, or if any advice given could just be presented in a better way.

Regardless, one thing I've learned over time: Accept what you may see as a short-coming in your friends. Being honest and aiming for self-improvement is important, but you can't force others to do as you see best-fitting.

That's about the only advice I can offer to this loose scenario. I've found out the hard way that you could just be pushing yourself away from everyone else, while it seems like everyone else is just being ignorant.

Hmh, I wonder if You learned something from this little chat, Ty?
    [/offtopic]

Cid, it might have something to do with the fact that You sound, as people have pointed out already, so condescending and full of Yourself, that people will subconciously prefer to make mistakes than to follow Your advice, even if it would be wise to ( which I...kind of doubt. But that's just because I dislike Your attitude :P ).

What that all has to do with respect, equality or loyality of all things, I fail to grasp o.O

I won't go any further into what I meant by that statement as it will offend an uncountable number of Xbox players around here and a riot will ensue between Sony and Microsoft fanboys.

Let me give a more defined example: I hear one of my friends wants to befriend a person I once knew and utterly despise because said person is a complete asshole and so on. I advice my friend to stay away from that person in order to prevent drama from seeding afterwards, but my friend won't listen and thus bullshit inevitably happens.

    You won't defend your insinuations?

Then you won't go onto explain your shallow preconceived notions ...?

Spare me the, "I'm a royal knightish fur" act and let's cut to the chase as the humans we are, "Sire". Your an everyday person like me. The average joe. Sitting at his computer with nothing better to do. Emphasis on the, "Nothing Better To Do" part. So, with all that extra effort for work available, work that you could've very well spent tapping away a somewhat mature or developed response, why did you instead choose to slander someone based on what they appeared to be?

Sinking to trolling, are we? I was simply ranting on the fact that I have to endure disrespect from my friends many times a week.

And spare me the "sire" crap, I didn't come here to be referred to formally by anonymous know-it-alls on the forum for the lulz. In addition, I'm not the average joe howsoever you try to argue against it. If you knew me much better, you'd understand why (and this is from a moral-based standpoint).

    This rant is over.

Soooo if your friend befriends this individual you decide that they're not worthy of your friendship?

I was in this situation before...I wanted to date a guy that all my friends said was "bad news". I dated him anyway. My friends decide to completely sever contact with me, because I wouldn't take their "good advice", that I was "treacherous", and that "I'd come crawling back when I [saw] the error of my ways."

Four years later, I am still with said "bad news" guy (who definitely isn't "bad news"). I've tried to rekindle my friendship with these people, but after four years of flaming, snide comments I decided that they weren't worth it.

I hate to say this to you dude, but friendship is a TWO WAY STREET. Your friend makes a decision that you don't agree with? You can make your opinion known, but you stick by them and respect that they can make their own decisions. RESPECT. If it all blows up in their face, you are there to comfort them without ANY hint of "I told you so". If it works out differently than you had originally thought, you are gracious in being corrected.

It sounds to me like you're the one not being a good friend here.

... so you chose someone who you thought was vunerable enough to trash and went for it? I should've expected better from someone who complains about the virtues of honour, respect, and loyalty being lost on the common man.

It would appear in a complete turn of irony, that it's been lost on you and your about as common as they come, buddy.

Please, learn from this lesson, and encourage your friends also to not judge books by their cover.
