3D printing as a solution to fursuit manufacturing

I'd say as long as the objects are rigid or not easily bendable, it's good idea. It'll save you a lot of time and effort.

Have you ever thought of starting a fursuit or fursuit parts business?

You will probably have to ship overseas. With what fursuits cost in most places, shipping should be easy to cover.

From a design standpoint, you have two options. First, you could start out by selling fursuit parts, which don't have to be factored to fit a person. However, it would be smart to contact some fursuit makers abroad to let them know you exist so they buy your printed parts. Second, if you decide to sell fursuits, customers may have to provide exact measurements. Another alternative is to use a tailoring app that customers could their measurements with, but I would have to see if that app is freeware already.

The only thing the costumer has to do is take a few pictures of themselves
That is a novel solution, but you also have to consider the privacy concerns customers may have about taking pictures of themselves.

wouldn't solid plastic parts be very heavy? Sry, I don't know very much about 3-D printing. I've seen the stuff they make and it's all hard
plastic and even metal. nothing light and fluffy like styrofoam.
