A few days ago, I got yelled at by a mother on xbox live.

I was playing Halo Reach a few days ago and there was little kid who kept team-killing anybody who took a weapon he wanted. Keep in mind Halo Reach is rated Mature, and this kid sounded like he was about 7 years old.If he didn't get his way, he talked a bunch of trash to other people and threw a fit. He said some of the most horrific thing's I've ever heard. I'm not just talking about swearing, though there was plenty of that. I'm talking about some of the most vile, hateful, stuff that could come out of anybody's mouth. Let alone a 7 year old.

Well everybody on my team got fed up with this kid and muted him. Eventually, he killed me after I grabbed the rocket launcher. Thankfully, the game gave me the option to kick him from the game. A few minutes later, I received a chat invite from this kid. I joined the chat expecting to hear him yell at me out of anger, but no. It was his mother. I don't remember the conversation word for word, but I'll give you the gist of it.

Me: Hello?

Kid's Mother: (is this him Brian?) (yes that's him!

Kid's Mother: Excuse me, my son says he just played a game with you and he says you were cheating.

Me: Huh? How was I cheating?

Kid's Mother: Brian says you disconnected him from the game.

Me: Yes, I did. Your son was..

Kid's Mother: Excuse me, network manipulation is cheating and it will get you banned.

Me: I didn't manipulate the network. Your son was being a jerk.

Kid's Mother: Well, he is only 8 years old, he doesn't know any better and if you didn't manipulate the connection, how did you make Brian quit?

Me: Brian kept killing everybody on his team. He killed me when I grabbed the rocket launcher and the game gave me the option to kick him,
so I did.

Kid's Mother: Well, maybe you should let him use what he wants. He is only 8 year's old, don't you think you should cut him some slack?

Me: No! Your son may be 8 years old, but he is intolerable. He was being incredible hateful.

Kid's Mother: But a lot of people tease eachother online, why should this be any different.

Me: Brian told me to "crawl back into my mother's [redacted]" and he also told me she should have had the abortion.

Kid's Mother: I don't believe you.

Me: You can ask anybody else who was on my team, they'll tell you the same thing.

Kid's mother: I'll do that and if they say he did it, Brian will definitely be punished, but if they tell me you are lying, I am reporting you to microsoft.

Anyway, the conversation went on for a bit, but you get the idea. A mother can't believe that her innocent little boy did anything wrong. What the hell is wrong with people? If I did that kind of shit and my parents found out, I'd be grounded for a week. What is causing this rampant stupidity?

EDIT: And yes, I have posted this on other forums. So don't give me the "COPYPASTA!" BS.

Parents who let their grade-school kids play on Xbox Live shouldn't be allowed to have children. This isn't the first time I've heard this story and I doubt it'll be the last.

Think Of Something Else
I'm never having children. never ever ever ever ever EVER, and that little kid is a nice example of why. I enjoy life, why ruin it with my seed?

Love is the message
This is why I believe we should have licenses to raise kids. That mom would never have passed the test.

Hmm. my 8 year old brother doesn't do that.
Some People are just mean, hateful people.
Hmm... Let's make a list.
2nd grade: Made fun of entire year, teacher didn't like me.
3rd grade: Okay./moved to new school/RIDICULE XPLOSION!
4th grade: spit on multiple times, slammed into fence.
5th grade: see second grade. (excluding the teacher part.)
6th grade: made fun of entire year, because i was with same students from 4th and 5th grade. Also ridiculed for my leg problems.
(it was known that i had something wrong with my legs because i had to run a mile every week. the pain was unbearable. i would often cry and walk/jog at the same time because my teacher kept telling me to keep going. Turns out i have Muscular dystrophy and i'll be in a wheelchair when i'm in my late 30s to early 60s. YAY ME.)
7th and 8th grade in Texas were the best years of my life. I'm going into high school next year.
I think the reason that i am who i am is because of this ridicule. so in some case, i thank them.

Heck, I wouldn't have been playing the game in the first place when I was that kid's age.

Obviously, since the game wouldn't have been out when you were that kid's age :V

Reasons like this is why I hate video game communities, especially when you can team kill.

And to all little kids and that kid, M means mature not, my mommy went out and bought it for me.
Can't OP report the kid to Microsoft for playing adult games?
I know you can't go in and buy adult games underage

I don't know, guys, that mother seemed actually not bad. She seemed pretty reasonable to me. She was even going to check with other people and *gasp* punish her kid if they said you were telling the truth.

It doesn't change the fact that she shouldn't be letting her 8 year old play online shooting games by himself.

Illegal to buy, not to play. Kind of like cigarettes. If the parent gets it for him, he's perfectly fine.

If a parent gave cigarettes to a child, they'd go to jail

so that comparison don't really work but I do get what youre saying

Huh, I thought it was a federal law. Around here, providing tobacco products to minors is a felony offense.

Also, I have the funniest feeling this kid's going to end up being a complete manchild when he's older.

Question 5.a
- Why did you expect anything different when playing Halo?

1. It doesn't always give the option to kick. It usually takes a few tries.

2. This was a random kid in matchmaking and he wasn't in my particular group, so we couldn't kick him.

3. I muted him, that was good enough for me. I didn't expect him or his mother to invite me to a private chat.

4. It was amusing.

5. I was bored and some friends wanted to play.

5.a. I didn't expect anything as ridiculous as this.
