AFAIK, ESRB ratings actually have no legal purchasing restrictions.
Companies are the ones restricting sales based on rating.
A few days ago, I got yelled at by a mother on xbox live.

This is why the only online [competitive] shooter I play is Counter Strike Source. And even more specifically on the 007 server. Much more mature and laid back guys who even when giving shit, are obviously just joking and doing it in friendly banter. They're there for fun, not a dick measuring contest like the HALO, BF, or COD communities.
Particularly that the 007 server is full of people my age who grew up with the Goldeneye (N64) days of multiplayer and know better than those punk kids these days.

You gotta love xbox just because of stories like this. I never had anything crazy like this happen to me, but a lot of little kids do play Halo and I'm not really that surprised. Also, don't let your kid play violent games when they are under a reasonable age!

Yes, it is. Unfairly so, I think it's much more applicable to a teen rating, but he shouldn't have been playing it at age 8 either way.

My aunt does this crap with her oldest kid. He's 10 he threw a fit to play RDR on my sister's Xbox, then told them about the "bad words" and things and she tried to lecture my sister that she didn't need things like that. And yet she buys him things like GTA and then wonders where he comes up with the idea to shoot his dad in the head if he ever meets him face to face.

I guess I didn't explain it as well as I thought. I was trying to say that he shouldn't have these games, he's 10. He thinks this stuff is cool and talks about doing it in real life just because he can in game. She doesn't bother to explain to him the difference but yet lectures my sister that she doesn't need things like this, though she's 18 and understands. I'm not saying he's gonna grow up to be a violent person just because of a video game.

I had some little kid pop into my party and my friends laughed and called him a squeaker. He then started sending me messages about how I'm a girl and no one messes with him and his brother. After that he said he was gonna erase me which I was hoping he would. a few minutes later he was apologizing telling me not to erase him. This kid to must've been like 7. I sent him a message saying he should watch what he says to people and it's to late, erased, and then blocked him. Never play halo drunk cause you come back and have friends you don't remember. lol
