While movies and shows are obviously a large influence on the fandom's/fursuiter's imagery, I really don't see any need to get upset about it. Why?
Firstly, there ARE furries that are bad. In my opinion the fandom is a lot like Star Wars, with a light and dark side. If a show chooses to use these bad elements in their scripts, then so be it.
Secondly, it should be up to the furry community to paint a good picture for itself. I meet people all the time who don't even know what furries are, or have stretched opinions about them that I proceed to set straight. Education from our mouths is going to be what gets us a good spotlight, not these movies/shows
Thirdly, the furry community doesn't really have a bad reputation. Fursuiters are extremely popular at events, receiving both acceptance and love from parents and children alike. We're not hated, or even misunderstood by the majority. It's the minority that has skewed opinions, and usually the minority aren't reliable sources.
As for this aide who has a panda/young boy fetish thing going... well, let's just say it's happened before and will happen again. Honestly that sort of thing angers me much more than the show.
