Allergy Season

Oh how much I hates it, even though I got good at sneezing. I tried the, spoon full of honey makes the allergy demons go away, thing; it didn't work- probably because it wasn't local honey and I'm out of local honey. Clariton isn't working at all anymore, and I'm allergic to some antihistamines. Things like benadril, which should help but cause me to get rely bad hives. I'm almost fine with not going outside until fall when everything is dead. But on the off chance I have to go outside what kind of things would you (collective) do to prevent the allergy demons from attacking you?

I don't have to worry about this problem. Have fun with your allergies this season. lol

Have you tried Zyrtec? It worked for me with my clay allergies and I'm pretty sure drowsiness rarely happens.

It's also great for stuffy noses associated with colds.

I'll try it, but the drowsiness is what gets me. I don't mind sneezing, but in the allergy season I sneeze my self into a stupor, then I lie in the grass and develop horrible plaguing itchiness.

Can you get Zyrtec without a prescription?

i have an irritating little scar in the inside of my nose... whenever i accidentally rip it off, my nose bleeds and i begin to get allergies. as long as i don't disturbe it, im fine.

It says that the FDA has let people purchase it over-the-counter, so it should be.

I use Rhinocort. It's a nose spray.... When everything failed me, this one worked, so you could see if it works for you too. Though mine's kind of a weird case, I think. I'm not allergic to anything that's alive (I could breathe in a fistfull of pollen or animal hair and not be bothered, except for the initial fit of coughing); rather, I'm allergic to poison. Sounds funny, I know, but it's the crap that everyone puts on their lawns to kill weeds that makes me react. Farmers use it, too, and it blows in off of their fields during dry, dusty days. So the very air in my hometown during the summer makes my nose run and my eyes water, because it's full of poison. Fun.
You could always talk to a doctor, you know.

I sneeze everytime I get full.... But no allergies here. I have a few friends that use the honey thing and say it works great, but like you said it has to be local honey and you have to take it year round. Not just when they attack.

Ohgod I hate my allergies. Got the past 10 years or so, I was getting shots to lessen the symptoms, maybe even get rid of my allergies. After I moved out of my mom's house and had no more insurance, I stopped going and now I'm wasting all my money on Clariton.

OP: Ah, damn. Now I wants some honey; especially the natural one (with the combs in it). Thanks a lot, Aryeonos :c

Natural honey with the combs in it is the best...*mmmm* Delicious.

Come to think of it I think I did recently acquire some local clover honey...

What was it... I saw some nasal spray on the television yesterday... was it zyrtec? I thought it was prescription though. How do they name those drugs anyway? Is it an abbreviation of the chemical substances? Like Benzodyzapines?
