Any other DND playing furs out there?

I didn't see any other threads like this so does anybody else play DND/Pathfinders?

I am talking about tabletop DND, not that shitty computer game.

I used to be part of a large group of people who played but most of them moved in the span of a few months. Now its basically just me

I was usually the DM. Since they left I have just been adding to my world for the past year and a half

Playing D&D with other furries would be like a dream come true for me. Nobody would question why I was so intent on going through the trouble to make my own race just so I could be a talking bird thing...

Though I haven't in Years, I did/do love playing D&D, haven't had a group together since 2002 though as we all went our separate ways. I'm the only one from my original group that's still a gamer. The rest figured "Settling down and having a family" meant that you don't play games anymore, which is ridiculous.

Clear!
I'm actually going to play this Sunday for the first time. I was added to the group Facebook chat for it and I'm somewhat put off by the level of dedication and time spent on it. Including myself, we're three occasional players and then three almost-daily players.

From what I've heard we'll actually be playing in an old barn, which seems like a neat setting.

Oh I love DnD, Pathfinder, and various other role playing game settings/systems. I am currently running a Pathfinder adventure path, which is basically a whole slew of premade dungeons and encounters designed to take characters from level 1 to 20 all while following a cohesive story, for my friends, two of whom live too far away to physically travel and another one that lives half way across the U.S.. We run it using Skype and a useful little program called Maptools. Maptools lets you essentially have a virtual table where you can put maps and tokens down and everyone just connects to that. Its not that hard to set up and I have managed to get very technologically illiterate people playing on it.

Don't let a lack of players near by stop you from enjoying these wonderful games. With a bit of work you can find groups of people online looking to run or play in games.

Generic Furry
I do, when I have people to play with.

Which is never.

This is the story of my life. What's worse is that all my friends play Pathfinder on days they know I can't make it to - and they have three sessions a week.

I played Pathfinder with a few guys from the forums for abit. Then the GM had work on Saturdays and now I have no idea if we'll have another session

Yup! DnD 3.5. I'm actually starting up a game for the first time this Friday. Prior to this, the last time I played was with one of the most awesome teachers I had in high school & some classmates - fighter/rogue ftw!

The world is based on that of my Fursona and consequently includes my own homegrown human alternative race, Lumanian. I've been reading the core rulebooks for like 6 hours a day every day for the passed week >.< but it'll totally be worth it.

I've been cranking out (read: haphazardly throwing together) the first quest that I know they'll blaze through which includes an evil Lumanian druid (accompanied by a pack of wolves) that's magically drained a water supply to screw over a local rest stop. I'm finding that it's like 1 hour of work to put together potentially 15 minutes of gameplay.

Never played and always wanted to. Even if it's an online only group, someone invite a newb like me :D

I'm in the same boat as some of the others in this thread. I collect rulebooks as a hobby. Have several editions of DnD, as well as all kinds of other genres and publications. I enjoy reading them for the artwork and the fluff (and actually working for some of the companies)

But yeah, none of my pals are interested at all.

I play both. Loving to run 2nd edition D&D(love my THAC0). Also running a shadowrun and CoC game at the moment.

My husband runs a twice monthly campaign with our group of friends. It's great fun. Before that we were playing GURPs and D&D 3.0

I would do one online but it just feels so impersonal. When I Dm I like to walk around the table and get really into the acting part of being a DM

That's the exact reason I never tried finding an online group. D&D needs personal interaction for it to be fun for me. When I used to play, my friends and I had the most fun just interacting as our characters, and that doesn't seem like it would work well over Skype.

Yeah, I find online play more of a chore than the real thing.

I used to GM a Star Wars game back in the day. Episodes during one long campaign. Good times.

It should work similarly if everyone had a webcam so the game was still a conference...

My players and myself have never had a problem interacting with each other over Skype, but other people might have different preferences for communication mediums. I say don't knock it till you try it, but if you do try it and find its not for you then that's ok.

I just don't like online gaming in general. To me, multiplayer gaming is being together around a split screen display. No mater how many people I'm playing with online, I'm still alone in the room and I still feel isolated.

I prefer Warhammer. Never liked D&D.
Apart from that some local systems that you never heard of. Like Neuroshima, Dzikie Pola (Wild Fields), Monastyr (Monastery), Arkona or Wiedźmin: Gra Wyobraźni (Witcher: Game of Imagination).

never played DnD, but other RPGs in the warhammer universe.

i did find a funny loophole in one of the systems, that will allow me to be a furry character in the 40k universe... i am looking forward to the GM's reaction lol (funnily enough, since the rules are actually pretty clear, there's no stopping me :D )

When I played with some of my friends I once tried to do a furry character. The DM at the time (who was a pain in the ass) shot me down. I would have loved to have furries running around in my game
