Anyone here who is part of the fandom but NOT for "otherkin" or "spiritual" reasons?

Re: Anyone here who is part of the fandom but NOT for "otherkin" or "spiritual" reaso

TBH I have no clue what otherkin is and it's not really a spiritual thing....I know a few friends that believe they have a spiritual connection to animals though. One's a dragon, one's a wolf, and the other's a fox.....idk if they're furries though.

If they aren't they're a bit saner for it.

In other words ,

Which ones of you guys are simply interested in the fandom as a hobby and not some philosophical or spiritual way?
I am. I never 'felt' like a furry. I just started liking some random art I found, then it exploded from there... I didn't even do stuff like draw anthros as a little kid or anything like that...

I quit Magic the Gathering, so I needed a new hobby. :V

This hobby taps into my creative outlet.

But every time I see a person using the fandom is spritual excuse, I just want to rupture their kidneys.

I consort with furies, and enjoy the fandom but even my persona I use for sites like this is not a furry, but a human, People who embrace this kind of group as a faith or a lifestyle are doing nothing but deluding themselves in the longest term. It is a group who like the same sort of art and fiction, Not more.

Not an Otherkin, or very much of a spiritual person.

Not here for the art.

Not here for fursuits or sex.

...Birds are awesome, that's really it, I guess. :/

The "lifestylers" are even worse.

Am I allowed to kidney shot them as well?
But Lifestylers and the "Seeking spiritual enlighenment" in cartoons and Cub porn is just as bad.

Animals play a big part in my spirituality, but not the furry fandom at all. I just love to make art c:

Anthro fan, that's pretty much it.

But every time I see a person using the fandom is spritual excuse, I just want to rupture their kidneys.

Steal their kidneys instead. I hear they fetch quite a sum on the black market, certainly more than enough to cover the cost of chloroform, a tub of ice, and a hotel room.

My boyfriend was a furry and explained it to me like this
"you like animal cartoons right?" "yes" "and you draw yourself as a fox a lot" "uh huh" "you're kind of a furry"
He took me to a con to show me. it was fun. I like the art and crafting so I stuck around.
I don't relate to the otherkin stuff at all, I also don't do the porn or sex fetish stuff. I fursuit cause it's really fun...so i think of myself as a pretty soft core furry.

I'm glad you agree.

I don't see it as anything more than a hobby or interest. I have never especially wanted to be an animal or anything, although I know furries who do, and I think it would be kinda cool myself. I just simply love the art and the community for its open-mindedness, diversity, and general friendliness.

Moreso, the OP sounds like he thinks that most furries are like that.
From what I can see, said thing is not the truth. What made the OP think it was like that?

Pretty much just hear for the art. Drawing human/animal hybrid critters are more interesting to draw then just humans or just animals.
