You know why you get paired up with all these Mexican wrestlers, right? There was a famous Luchadore called Santo. He was in several movies, including 'Santo vs Las Momias' (Santo versus the Mummies of Guanajuato).

Meanwhile, I tried putting 'Furaffinity' into a competing AI art program called 'Dream' and it gave me something that looks like a bodyless walking groin with teeth and a built-in car stereo. Honestly, it's so disturbing and borderline pornographic that I daren't even post it here! It looks like Slipknot had a baby with Pinhead.

I am an intrigued ratto :O

Just in case it was not clear, Gallen-Kallela did not, in fact, paint a painting of rats piloting a spaceship back in 1902. But this is apparently app-rat-rently what it would have looked like if he had *rat fingerguns*

How do people feel about this sort of art being posted to FA? I've seen two separate people, including one that I follow, post them.

I got intrigued and had to try it in Craion. There:

Don't say you weren't warned!

I don't mind, provided that it's properly categorised (I use 'screenshot') and they make it clear that it was AI generated. I put mine in 'scraps'. I mean, plenty of people post Second Life screenshots as if they were art, or 3D rendered stuff using models they downloaded from the Internet. I don't see the difference. It can actually take some time and nuance to formulate a sentence that gets drawn the way you want it to. If you don't believe me, try putting 'Horse Rider' into Wombo Dream and see what happens. You'll usually get something with more than four legs, and more often than not, I got a picture of a man, riding a horse, riding ANOTHER HORSE. I have yet to work out a reliable 'prompt' that will produce something more than vaguely equine.

"Conflicted" probably is the most apt descriptor. Personally, I love the AI stuff... but I also have this suspicion that they could potentially become a flood in which the human- (or animal-) created arts drown in, seeing how relatively easy they are to generate. *rat-shrug*

Well, I am convinced.

My fear is less that the normal stuff will drown in the sea of AI-generated stuff, and more that it’ll make the normal stuff obsolete.

This technology is only going to get better… this must be how people felt about machinery/robots replacing employees at factories. It can be depressing having a skill you’ve spent your life learning be obsoleted.

Quick note: I just got my invite to Dall-E 2 and holy potatoes this thing is accurate! Annoying that they've moved to a credit-based system, especially since 115 credits cost $15, but at least you get 15 free creds a month at the moment. Personally I think this is WAY too expensive. Still playing around with it at the moment; may post some images later. Such a hassle doing that now that you can only use links.

How many generations do you get per credit?
Also, do show us the Dall-E 2 results, I for one would love to see them :3

And now, some cheese. And, I guess, steam engines:

One credit lets you put in one prompt and gives you four variations on it. So you don’t even get as many as with the original. Images are 1000 pixels square. The usage license is open enough to use the results in commercial products.

It can still take several tries to get exactly what you want and there are some things it’s still bad at drawing. I couldn’t get a decent picture of a scythe for example.

I was wondering why there were so many wrestlers...

There's an artist named Salvador_Furr-E on FA and they're creating frighteningly convincing artwork using AI-generation.

This technology is rapidly improving and I definitely think it threatens the art community.

I finally got access to the one Faustus mentioned and wanted to see how effective it would be to come up with images I could use as reference, for those poses/situations that don't exist.

Alas, it is garbage. And if you use the word curvy in your search it will issue you a warning for searching something inappropriate, but shirtless male is completely acceptable.

I have tried similar themes to what other users are searching and when I use the word painting or portrait it gives me something that looks like clipart. This sucks, man XD

(I tried multiple variations of this btw, I kept getting weird stuff regardless of how I phrased/punctuated/worded it)
