I'm weird and people often look different at me like i have something different in my face, i also make a laughing expression when i remember something funny wich is hard to hide.
I dunno if im labeling myself or making excuses but i dropped off college cuz i didn't like the course and had severe anxiety issues and now i feel like i cant go there again.

I created this thread cuz i feel weird and i dont have anyone to relate to,sorry if any real autistic person feel ofended but i dont seem to fit anywhere so maybe i can identify myself here.
I don't care about being different but i cant find interest in studies or relate to people and this is fucking my life right now
Also, i wanna know from real autistic people how it is, how it feels like. Many persons i encountered over the internet have this stuff and this topic cant get out of my head

Yo. I'm not autistic and I can't speak for anyone who is, but I don't think you should compare yourself to people with certain conditions when the comparison is brought on by being "weird", "not fitting in", or "socially unaccepted". That means you associate these qualities with those people and I'm sure no one wants to feel that way. I'm sure you meant no harm, but do consider this in the future when comparing yourself to others. Moving on...

I understand your feelings of anxiety and it sucks. It's hard learning to be happy and comfortable with ourselves in life, but even more so when we're placed in social situations with others who judge us. But you can't give in or run away from these situations. You have to learn to accept yourself as you are and be proud of it. One thing that helps you become comfortable with yourself is by finding people who share your interests and make some friends who enjoy the you that you want to be.

As far as school goes, there's nothing wrong with taking a break to get yourself together and reconsidering what studies you're interested in. Life is about trials and errors. We change and so do our interests. I think you should look into more things you find interesting and consider those.

Many people suffer with various anxieties these days, you are not alone. Social standards and morals change with the times, and while many of us have become more understanding; there are still people who jump to judge others for the way they appear at a glance.

That said, people also often judge for a reason (it is our nature). A lot of people with anxieties are poorly adjusted for one reason or another. People might be inclined to avoid you in which case, for any number of their own personal reasons; maybe they don't want to 'make time for that', maybe they already deal with it themselves, or maybe they think you're different in a bad way.

I am an exceptionally anxious little mite, but I contain it and try to wield my fears as courage instead. I'm not suggesting that you just suck it up; it took me time to temper my emotions, and I really used to suffer with my anxiety; and I felt ill and alone in it because I believed I was weak for being afraid. Well, it's only human to feel that way; especially in our society which demands so much of us socially. Can we compete with everyone else? That's our purpose in life, to compete and procreate; so is it any wonder, the pressure to fit and match with others becomes a frightening prospect? It's fundamentally what we live for.

No one is normal, so please don't feel that you're obliged to 'fit in'. We're all scientifically unique and thus, we're all weird.

Thanks! I need to overcome my fears and find my way in life but its so hard when nothings seems to fit you

I'm going to say that college isn't for everyone. A bad college can make that feeling worse, since professors seem to go out of their way to make their name known.

As far as social anxiety and awkwardness goes, we're on the same boat. We might be on different ends but still there. I accepted my awkwardness and tried to find someone who can also accept it. If you're looking for it, you're in the right place, my friend.

There's something for everyone. It becomes a lot harder to find it if your head's hanging down. Just keep moving forward! :D

I don't think you're autistic or you probably wouldn't be making eye contact enough to have an opinion on the way people look at you. More than likely you are just worried people are thinking whatever or looking at you a certain way and then looking at them a lot because of it, so of course they will look back at you like that. Force yourself into some random social situations and get used to talking to people (outside of the internet). It should get much easier over time and if it's a random person you'll probably never see again why worry about the outcome?

Sometimes I feel I lived on a distant alien planet in a past life, where anything was possible without money or work and where people were respected by others no matter how ugly their ways would have seemed to humans.

I find myself very frustrated with the way normal human society works.

In a world as large as ours with as many different people as there are, it becomes idealistic to think that everyone will get along with everyone. That's why it's important we build ourselves up first so we're able to withstand what society throws at us.

Well since we are all been honest I have HFA at stands for High Functioning Autism.
I am what I am and like people who are proud to be things. I decided to make my fursona Angellothefox Autistic and Crystal Fire my second fursona Aspergus.

I am not really offended by it. I get more offended when people on line say they are part of Physiology and say they can cure autism!
...T.H.A.T...I.S...W.H.E.N...I...G.E.T...M.A.D...
On some occasions I do not know whether it has happened that much now.
But I sometimes think of something funny and I start laughing.

Sometimes the simplest of things like a bollard full of water and when you rock it from side to side water comes out that was highly entertaining for me.

I have noticed and you probably have the way I type.
Not everyone can understand it which makes it difficult in a normal conversation.
One furry I know loves the way I type. Infact he wants me to teach him how to word stuff just like me:)

For me one of the most annoying thing is typos and sometimes spell checker dose not have the right spelling for stuff at really can drive me up the wall. So I have to just say right we will leave it in.
If I did not use spell checker they would be a few more miss spelled words.

Sorry for the long speech

I understand you said probably anyway, but I'm diagnosed autistic (high functioning) and I can usually pick up on those sort of things. Although my autism is quite mild and I would say I actually have slightly above-average intelligence.

Mild autism. What social skills I have I had to learn the hard way. I'm still outspoken though, and I'm sure you'll find THAT one out the hard way yourself if you stick around long enough.

So, that would be Autistic Spectrum (per DSM V) and not Autistic.

Though, if it's not causing a problem I'm not sure how you were diagnosed with a disorder o_O

I'm sure I'm missing something though, and I'm reading between the lines.

OK time out.
I went back up, and you can see how people look at you without stopping to stare directly into their soul.

Went back up where? To the post where I was replying to someone else?

Yeah, I'm not saying it is impossible.

It was a guess but it seems I may have been right.

The post you quoted was about a totally different member.

From your description I could tell that you're gay as a fruitcake. Enjoy the cocks!
^Back up there.
You can be autistic and not be a full on retard, to put it bluntly. And if nothing else, you can LEARN to look people in the eye. It's a bitch, and if you're anything like me, you can't do it for very long, but you can do it.
