FAQ
divider-2.png

What I won't Draw

  • Porn

What I'm okay with

  • Nudity
  • Any non-pornographic gender pairing (m/m, f/f, f/m)
  • Humans, ferals, anthros, environments, machines, creatures...
  • Androgynes, Hermaphrodites, etc
  • ...Pretty much anything. Just ask if you're not sure. <3

Expected turn-around time...
Due to my busy schedule, please expect all commissions to be finished in roughly 1-2 weeks.
Smaller commissions will take a bit less time, and larger commissions may take a bit longer.

Reference Sheets
Basic reference sheets include:

  • 3 turnaround views (front, side, back)
  • A few head-shots (various expressions)
  • Additional details (color palette, paw pads, etc)
  • Optional alternative form (i.e., feral version)
  • Any desired text/information.

Simplified reference sheets (3-pose turnaround only) can still be purchased for $25 upon request.

Not to be of any bother, but your prices are rather high, mabe you should consider lowering them a little it could attract more people into buying your art considering it is gorgeous.

Thanks for the advice, Uru-King! You're not a bother at all, don't worry. c:

I will probably lower my headshot prices, since they are a bit high at the moment, but at least for now, I'll keep the other prices where they are.

Thanks again! <3

$15.00 "Flat Color" commissions now include basic shading. I will update the original ad, shortly. c:

Here's an example of a $15.00 shaded commission! [sub](Image is rated mature for mild nudity.)[/sub]

Your prices for the digital paintings do seem high at first, but I think by only a little.
The quality of your artwork is amazing.
I am a little confused as the the difference between a digital drawing-painted and a digitally painted picture.

The additional characters and print request are a bargain I think.

I would love to buy one, but I am broke at the moment, and probably will be for a long time (uni)

P.S there is an edit post button you know ~.^

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm definitely going to try and simplify the entire thing, it's way too complicated right now. :F

As for the edit button, I can't access the PSD file for the image used in the first post at the moment because it's on my boyfriend's computer -- so I figured a simple post would work in the meanwhile. c:

OK, had to pipe up cuz, well....fellow gryphon. ;3

Your prices are not high sweetie. They are what an average freelancer should be charging for customized work, if not slightly under. The trouble is the fandom (though I <3 it dearly!) is flooded with artists who charge pennies for their work. This hurts the rest of us who are trying to make a reasonable living wage from doing art. I personally find it quite refreshing to see other artists charging reasonable prices for lovely work.

The painted icons you list....would that be what you are using for an icon yourself?

I think we may need examples of each option...

Anyhoo, I should shut up now as I have no money ^^;

P.S good luck ^-^

Hey fellow Gryphon! <3 Thank you so much for your kind words.

Since I'm doing this for my livelihood, I do need to try and price my time efficiently. It makes me a little sad to see other artists downpricing themselves, but I definitely, definitely understand that not everyone has lots of money to spend. (I know I don't!)

As for the avatars, my avatar is actually a kind of in-betweeny. I was planning on selling them for $4.00 (thread here). The $6.00 avatars are painted entirely, with no lineart, in this sort of style (but more detailed). I know that painting isn't the best example ever, but it's all I have for now until I get some better portfolio pieces uploaded.

I definitely agree!

I think I got a little ahead of myself in creating this thread before I have enough examples, but hopefully that will be fixed, soon. :D When I'm next able to update the first post (probably tomorrow or later tonight), I'll have clearer examples of everything.

And no, don't feel bad for having no money. Like I said, I completely understand -- I'm in a bad financial spot, myself. The feedback is always very much appreciated. c:

People seriously under estimate the amount of hours that it takes to create art. Your prices are reasonable and I don't think you should change them.

while we are talking about prices, I think you undercharge to be honest.
Your art is impressive as all hell, and I think you should be charging AT LEAST twice as much for a reff sheet than you currently are. At the moment you are only charging $7 for each full-bodied drawing! @_@
Your art is brilliant btw! Its nice to see another person who uses the 'painting' style. *stalks*

Thank you for the comments, Niny! I'm glad you like my style. You have some really lovely artwork, as well! c:

I would love to charge more, as this is actually my day job -- but I'm already struggling to find enough work as it is, and I'm afraid that raising my prices any more will entirely cut out what little revenue I'm currently making. If you happen to have any tips on getting myself out there, I would be so grateful!

Just keep doing what you are doing now.
Making threads like this is a good way to start. Its really important to put yourself out there in the community as much as possible because it'll help get your name out there, so entering contests and just talking in forums can help allot.
Advertise on multiple websites (FA, DA, forums, auctions, ect)
If you do a gift-art of someone who is e-famous (and if they post your art on their page) you'll get a tone of hits and probably a few commissions out of that.
And I've found that encouraging referrals has really helped me allot this year (eg: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1146028/ )

That is all of the advice I can think of, I hope it helps! Good luck. :)

Just echoing most of the people here in saying your art is very nicely priced. Have you drawn reptiles before?

Thank you so much for the advice, Niny! The referrals idea is fantastic, I just might have to try that out. C:

Thank you! I haven't drawn any reptiles in anthro form, but I have a fairly recent sketch of a little feral lizard (as seen in my conceptart sketchbook). c:

Noting you. As much as I'm behind in my own funds for something, you are getting the same advice I need to come to terms with. Don't undercut yourself because everyone else tells you to. Factor in min wage x hours done x personal fees. People should never feel like they should get things free from you which is..what undercutting is:< BUT RANT ASIDE

*goes to note*

I don't know, I definitely don't want to undercut myself, but it's been less than a month since I began accepting commissions, and I am still feeling relatively lost in the sea of competing artists. But I am definitely planning on raising my prices soon. I really don't want to bring down my fellow artists by underselling myself, because I understand that that's what happens in such a saturated market.
