Best concert you've ever been to?

This is my third time mentioning this on this forum, but whatever.

I've never been to a concert before, but I'm gonna go see Katy Perry tonight, which will make it my first. So I guess it will be my best by default?

I'd say the best concert I've ever been to is the only one I ever went too, the 2011 Amneville Sonisphere festival. Everything was pretty awesome, except some of the more drunken/drugged people were really obnoxious, I had to miss some bands on the small scene to keep my place in front of the big scene for the Big Four and by the end of the day (both days) I was on the verge of collapsing of thirst and tiredness ... that's somewhat dampened the mood during SLipknot and Metallica.

No this cant be true!
Whoa o_o The only well-known marching band we have here (that I know of, at least) is the UofL marching band. And they only do sporting events for the university. >>

Thats why its the detroit party marching band :3

My favorite would have to be Rush, saw them in April with their Time Machine 2011 tour. I was THIS CLOSE to meeting them, too, but the guy with our backstage passes didn't show up. ._.
What about you guys?
Avenged Sevenfold's Nightmare After Christmas tour. So fucking amazing. I got so drunk, bought a 40 dollar tshirt that I could have found online for way cheaper, and just generally had an awesome time.
So jealous.

Anyway, my absolute favorite concert was when I went to see Roger Waters perform The Wall downtown late last year with my Dad. It was a great night to share with him, to sit 30 years after he saw it for the first time and enjoy a night of amazing music and showmanship.

Second favorite was when I went to see Bullet for my Valentine (again downtown, different venue) with my friend and I stood in the middle of the mosh pit. So much energy. I also caught one of the drumsticks that flew into the crowd and I have it over on my bookshelf.

I also got to see Serj Tankian perform with the local Symphony and I had a backstage pass (because I worked there as a stagehand). Unfortunately, I wasn't working that day so I just sat out in the lightning and sound bay with my dad and watched the show. ^v^

Never been to one. :[ I'm gonna go see Rammstein in February, though. >:3c
LUCKY! I'd love to see them.

I'd love to see them as well.

If we're playin second favorites, then my second favorite would be the Music as Weapon tour with Disturbed, Korn, and Sevendust. That was a fucking crazy show. My ears were ringing two days after yet; Disturbed is loud! My friend got to meet both bands because he's a lucky peckerhead.

Never been to one. I dont' see why I would when I can just listen to music on my iPod.
Because you'd be hardpressed to find so much energy and adrenaline in one place.

In FAF CAThulu lies dreaming..
So. F*cking. Jealous!!!

I've been to 3 concerts, and they were all epic. Nine Inch Nails was awesome for it's stage show and just..gah...TRENT! *drul*. Tori Amos being the girl between 3 pianos was amazing to watch, especially switching mid note between a harpsichord and the bosendorfer. Just a beautiful concert. And Placebo in Detroit had so much energy in a small room for 200 people that it blew the roof off the place. 3 encores and an enthusiastic Brian Molko just shocked that we loved the band so much.

All good, all ones I would see again! :D

I almost got to go to a Nine Inch Nails concert with the same guy I saw the BFMV concert with, but his other friend was an indecisive prick that said he would go and then bailed at the last minute. -v-

I'm still pissed about that because it was apparently an awesome show.

The best concert I've been to was Rush at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA in 2002.

I had tickets to the ACDC concert when they came here. It was epic. They really know how to put on a show. they were even firing cannons.

Skillet, during their Alien Youth tour back in 2001.
I'd like to see them at some point, though I don't know any of their 2001 music. I love their new stuff though, and I hear they put on a fantastic show.

Alien Youth by far is their best cd. Skileet used to be more indrustrial sounding back then as well. Check out their cd Invincible too while you are at it. I have been listening to them since their self titled debut all the way back in 96 I believe.

And yes, they put on a great show. I have seen them several times. Can't wait till they come into town again.

I know that they've pretty much replaced everyone as they've gone on throughout the years. I think they have one original band member yet? Can't be positive. I'll eventually look at some of their older stuff though, but I try to get one CD a month, so I'm kinda selective :p

I like the industrial sound though. <3 Rammstein.

John Cooper is the lead singer and one of the original band members. It started as only 3 guys. The other 2 guys moved on eventually. Then John's wife joined, I believe when they made the cd Invincible.

And I meant industrial not like Rammstein, Skillet used to have a lot of synths and such in their music. I miss it. Their new stuff is still good. But From Savior on back is their really good stuff.

The cds I would recommend are Alien Youth and Invincible, Then Savior and Comatose.

I'm going to second that Gogol Bordello puts on a fantastic show. Saw them in Madison last October, absolutely kickass.

WINTERFELL!
Man, I wouldn't be able to choose my best concert.
Though Deftones were pretty feckin' awesome. Oh, actually, Staind. Seeing Staind in the (tiny) Mandela Hall in Belfast. I was right up at the front and when we met them afterwards they were like "Hey, you were the guys in front of Jonny!"

They are also such nice guys <3
