I am legion, for we are many.
But what if Genetic-alterations were somehow possible? What would stop those who've undergone the change from building a city at the bottom of the ocean, which would in turn be ruined by total anarchy caused by people trying to improve their body ( trough DNA-alteration), to get the edge over others... (Rapture, annyone?)

Or just in short: if DNA-alterations were possible, what would stop us from screwing up the human (/anthro) species?

P.S: Abou that inter-species breeding: how about the horse + donkey combo, to "make" those infertile (mules? What were they called in english?) you know what i mean...
That isn't uncommon at all.

I already did a Rapture joke in a previous thread like this.

I'm not speaking of the rate of occurrence, (it does happen a lot), but the probability of a kind of crossover being possible.

Sorry about that, then... But, tbh, i didn't look up the old topics... But i will if i'd ever want to post something new ;)

Ah, i see.
Not to mention that there's a very small chance something comes out of those cases...

P.s: i'll merge my last 2 replies tomorrow, from my pc. My phone doesn't have an copy-paste function

Genetic modifications and the such can have more cons than pros.

I think a more plausible idea would be cybernetic bodies, but then again this would involve removing the brain from the original organic body and encasing the brain with computer hardware.

But this also provides many moral and ethical questions. Here’s a couple:

“Could my hardware contain monitoring or tracking devices?”

“What if someone used my identity to commit crimes?”

Modifying the body through cybernetics IMO, would be more plausible than through genetic means. But cybernetics can be used not just for cosmetic reasons, but also physical and mental reasons.

You guys ever seen the film "Repo?"

Thats a bit similar to this. Sept not neccesarily furries, just transplanting organs and genetic modifications for fashions sake, rather then for medical sake.

It's a good film, had to leave half way through though because my boyfriend was disturbed by it. Shame.

Lots of things. First, several governments would probably be against the idea. Then there's the issue of gathering the resources, building the city itself, supplying the city, keeping the city intact, all the maintenance, getting the city under the water...

Actually, it is pretty rare. Most of the times an animal cannot breed with another unless they're extremely closely related, and even then they usually (such as Ligers) wind up sterile.

Not that it'd stop the Furry Fandom's most desperate members.
