The man in the photo is a criminal who conducted raids on pedophiles. Because of his attitude towards pedophiles, he has many fans, and his image can be considered a call to action (i.e. a call to prosecute pedophiles). Even if he is already dead, many people remember him as a fighter against pedophiles. I think something like that. I'm as confused as you are.

If you want to know my opinion, I don't understand at all how someone like him could be respected. He seems to be just a disgusting person. A disgusting person who has been stalking other disgusting people. Russians, if you think about it, have too many disgusting idols.

Not to derail, but I'm pretty sure european countries and the US too have unsavoury neo-nazi conservatives with followers. Being "idolized" by a certain group isn't the stance of the general population.

Of course it is. But in the United States and other developed countries, their percentage is lower.
Many young people in the CIS are tolerant of different races, nations and LGBT+ people, but they are under pressure from the older generation and laws that consider LGBT disgusting, destroying the family, etc. Ukrainians are being tortured by exactly the same neo-Nazis and criminals.
Just a funny example. In Russia, rainbow-colored ice cream has been called gay propaganda. Finish.

So I'm currently having a bit of a panic attack over this as I had no idea where the report function was, I've never had to report stuff before. I've scrubbed my browser of the content to the best of my ability but I'd really like some assurance that I'm not gonna get dinged because I was "technically viewing" the content when I was trying desperately to find the content report function. I couldn't find it and just ended up abandoning ship and wiping my cache. Am I safe?
That's a bit more comforting I guess. I'm just extremely paranoid about this sort of thing and I've got this horrific pit of anxiety in my stomach right now, to say nothing of the grade A eye bleach I need after that ordeal.
