Like every other skill, art takes years. Learning biology and anatomy is extremely important if you want to improve your learning speed let alone potential drawing skill ceiling. Takes years of research and dedication to your craft. Believe me, it doesn't, when talking about Illustration positions it's all about portfolio, the only time it would is if the company they want to work for required a Cal Arts degree.I think if you want a job in THE INDUSTRY, it helps to have that piece of paper that proves you're credentialed and educated in that area.
