I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Let's say a country (like Egypt or Turkey) that has pretty strict internet laws and a conservative mindset, decide to ban furry because they see it as an abomination, and they place laws against furries and people who are in the furry community. Well my question is, would you still keep being a furry in this case? Would you try to circumvent the laws and avoid them to participate in furries activities and still go to furry sites (secret furmeets, maybe?) or would you hide or completely drop the fandom altogether?

Who cares? I'm American.

Don't worry guys. If something like this ever happens I know of a secret abandoned bunker we can use to conduct secret furmeets and I also backup FA everyday just in case as well. I don't know what I would do with my life if an atrocity like this ever befell me.

I know that the leader of said country would laugh his ass off at a Furry Revolution. Just picture Tahrir Square with 950,000 Canine Fursuiters and 50,000 'other' Fursuiters protesting for their rights or something like that.

I think in those numbers, the police and army would just run away in complete shock and fear.

Hardly anyone knows I'm a furry now and probably no one will ever find out, so I guess I would continue on, seeing how it'd be pretty hard to be caught and prosecuted/persecuted for being one.

Anyway, OP. Most people I know who could know I'm a furry probably don't even know what a furry is. Most world leaders probably don't care unless they're one themselves. But no, I wouldn't stop being one. I'd just do, well, pretty much what I do now, which is leave the furry stuff at home.

I think that's a reference to Tumbles the Stairdragon, a furry who failed so hard at life that he tried to solve his temporary problems with a permanent solution (trying to slash his wrists with sunglass lenses and throwing himself down a flight of stairs) and failed.

I was referring more to the fact that fursuiters suck at going down stairs, since they cannot see very well. They would all trip and die.

The guy in the CSI episode got shot by a redneck with a rifle that had a night vision scope on it. He thought the raccoon was a coyote, it's a mistake that could be made by anyone.

The question is still stupid. What do you mean, "be one?" Look at porn? Own porn? Talk about it online? Talk about it in real life?

My reaction would depend entirely on whether or not I thought they could catch me. Unless they install some sort of online monitoring they can't really bust me for that. They'd have to be over my shoulder to hear me talking about it, and even if they went full Orwell and just cameras, cameras everywhere, they can't stop what's in a person's head (yet.)
