Earliest anthro/furry-related memories

I watched quite a few Disney Classics, from Aristocats to Fox and the Hound and beyond. I also watched a plethora of old Nick and Cartoon Network cartoons. I was always fascinated with animals, anthro or not so I always sought after those kind of shows. Hell, you should've seen how pissed I was when my Dad brought home the Pink Panther movie and it had nothing to do with animals.

Came across Shadowraine's deviantart gallery years ago and I came across these two images. I was instantly intrigued.

I was browsing the internet and I cam upon PawsRU. I know it's mainly a porn site, but it intrigued me, and I started looking more around the internet. Found this, liked it.

I looked up TV shows that were around in 1998 when I was 3 (which are some of my earliest memories) and well... are Teletubbies anthrop? Also Barney. I loved the shit out of Barney, even had a life-sized stuffed animal and a Barney-shaped cake pan.

Also Cat-Dog.

I've had daydreams and dreams for as long as i can remember, ever since i was a little kid. Being something other than humans always intrigued me.

When it comes to the little kid shows it was Spot the Dog, Paddington Bear, and Busyworld for me. Am I the only person that remembers this awesome puppet show called Eureeka's Castle? I had a proto-crush on the big dragon as a six year old.

This seems to be a fairly common introduction to the fandom. Is that a bad thing?

I've never viewed most animal-centric cartoons as "furry" per se, but I think Brian Jacques' Redwall novels definitely fall into the category and were a favorite book series of mine.

TV shows may have been a factor for me, but I think videogames had the biggest impact. I never liked starfox or sonic or anything like that, but I found the beast races in Morrowind intriguing.

Off topic, I can't really think of any serious games with playable anthro characters other than the elder scrolls series...

The Lion King, Disney's Robin Hood, Cats Don't Dance, and probably a few obscure Don Bluth films I can't remember at the moment.

The only show I remember was Tom and Jerry, apart from that I had a relatively anthro-free childhood.

oh god where do i begin.. all i would watch from age 4 onward it was either anime like DBZ and YuYu Hakusho.. cartoons featuring animals like CatDog or 2 Stupid Dogs... or I was watching the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet to watch shows about Dinosaurs and other things of the like.

I would even run around the house on all fours, make all kinds of animal sounds and i would walk around school when I was 10 pretending to be some kind of raptor type dinosaur.

Didn't find the real fandom until about... 4 years ago I think when a friend on DA posted she had a page here on FA. I was already looking at what would be considered furry artwork though so I latched on and haven't let go really.

Just this morning I rediscovered the Sonic series I used to love. The one with all the other critters like the cyborg bunny and the walrus. Loved that one.

Oftentimes yes because they think that's all that is important to furries. And it is. I'm just weird.
