Are you uploading a png file as your account avatar? because FA server converts it to gif which may corrupt quality of your avatar like that.

Okay, so basically, you have what's called aliasing on your image, it's just little bits of an off-colour that smooth the transition between the two. For GIFs, there's a specific colour dedicated to being transparent, so you can't have any blending between the two, otherwise it will just be a solid colour. I'll clean up the image and DM you a copy. :)

It sounds like your avatar file just needs a good cleaning up.... and - having a really good graphics editor get often times get the job done (if you want to do it yourself eventually).... and this is true - regardless of whether you have a completed file already drawn up, or - if you're drawing something new for yourself.
