Fetishes, more than or just sexuality? (NSFW, duh)

Fetishes are for sex only. And for furries, it is sex and everything that is said by furries on a daily basis.
OMG STAIN IS BAD FURSECUTION!!1

Well, I'm into the more 'sinking' side of WAM (mud, quicksand etc), and to be honest I'd certainly say I don't think of it on any level other than a sexual one. D=

I have multiple fetishes. Some (These don't include character fetishes) are:

Drowning
blushing
loli
guro
fear
blood/coughing blood

I'll post some more when I remember. Also, in my opinion, fetishes involve actual sexual ideas/actions and much more than that.

I tend to lean towards human to human transformations a lot because they're a lot of fun and they're easier for me sometimes than flat out animals, and that includes real person transformations which I feel are too overrhated.

Another with a formal wear fetish, along with a kilt fetish. I own nineteen of them, including two great kilts and one hand woven Lindsay tartan kilt.

"It's a kilt. Just like what happened to the last guy that called it a skirt."

I'm aware of fetishes but I'm more OCD, I guess it comes with the autism. Also didn't realize this thread was bumped after almost 14 years.. how long did you have to dig to find it..lol

I'm not a furry if I have feathers.
The one fetish I truly do not understand are feet. Feet are just…feet. They serve no sexual function whatsoever. I don’t get how and why they are attractive to some.

I've come to realize that a lot of the fetishes here have a component of submission and dominance. Feet are the lowest part of the body, down in or near the dirt. So one character interacting with another's feet could definitely play into that kind of dynamic.

I think there are better and more attractive options other than feet lmao.

yeah I'm not a fan of feet either or the whole dirty diapers thing, that just seems gross IMO

My friend and I actually talk often about our fetishes and kinks, and the psychology behind them (why we have them, why we find them attractive, etc). It’s great having someone I can openly talk to about it

Her fetishes are rooted in strong affectionate desire—things like (soft) vore and cannibalism are important to her because she feels that the strongest way to express how deeply she loves a character is to… quite literally merge with them by consuming them. Apparently this is the case for a lot of vore enjoyers. It’s obviously inherently sexual but also applies to romantic feelings for her.

Mine have the trend of power dynamics and a general emotional disconnect from humans (macro/micro, teratophilia, mind control, etc). Guess that’s what happens when you grow up isolated from a lot of people and really like monsters =.=‘ There are romantic aspects to it, definitely. Blah, blah, something about raw instinct, rejecting humanity, and unconditional desire. But it’s still largely sexual

What I find interesting is most macro/micro content I find is paired with vore or feet/stomping/crushing, but I actually really don’t like those aspects of it. For me it’s mostly the aspect of being in control of someone who could easily snap me like a twig. Definitely more of a dominance thing than an extension of a foot fetish

I was waiting for someone else to bring up the diaper thing.

Maybe for some, pretending to be a baby or toddler in diapers is how they cope with some past trauma, and RPing it out with others is somehow helpful to them.

I just don't want anything to do with it, and I don't want to be around actual people who wear diapers and soil themselves because it turns them on.

Weirdly enough, my character has a nonsexual fetish. He steals people's clothing when they're at a bath house or bathing pool. There's nothing sexual about it for him ICly, or for me. He's not a panty-sniffer. He just does it to be a nuisance.

Personally, I hate to think that diapers can be a sexually attractive thing for someone. Logically, babies wear diapers - it shouldn't be sexualized.
But it seems to me that those who love diapers find the role of a baby attractive, as a carefree part of life. The baby is so carefree that he does not even need to control his physiological needs.
I think many people are attracted to diapers (not sexually) for this reason.
It is quite harmless, but completely infantile.
Although I don't see anything unpleasant in the art with cubs, where excessive attention is not paid to the diaper; this is rare, but I have seen such art. It looks aesthetically pleasing and not repulsive.

Cub art freaks me out, but that just might be my own (admittedly unhealthy) disconnect from childhood and children in general. Though I have dated age regressors and I understand why agere/CGL would be an important coping mechanism to some people, minus the sexual aspect. I guess it’s subjective to people’s life experiences and the way they cope with childhood trauma

apparently, it might be because parts of the brain that process info about someones feet and the parts thar process info about mature things are physically close in the brain itself, and thus its easyer to have signals overlap, or something

but i haven't seen the point again, so it might of been made up, but makes sense

I think I’ve heard some babyfurs use it as a coping mechanism, that is to experience the childhood they wish they’d had since their own had abuse and the like.

Though, in line with my comment above, I could see the whole dirty diaper thing fitting into a general dynamic of submission/dominance that is common among various fetishes.

Though I’m speaking from my own perspective with an interest in transformation.

None of the fetishes seem sexually attractive to me. In fact, my only fetish is related to touching - putting arm around shoulders, stroking the fur on my head and hugging - nothing sexual. I am a schizoid who does not tolerate touching, they are unpleasant to me, and I just sometimes fantasize that it should be pleasant.
I mean, I will never be able to feel the pleasant sensations of someone hugging me, and so sometimes I replace it with fantasies when I read books, for example. Or I see art where two characters embrace. Yet again.

I've never been interested in transformation, but I've drawn art with vivisection a couple of times. Now I'm thinking that it would be nice to broaden my horizons by trying to draw taurs, macro, micro and transformation.

But I don't quite understand what moment of transformation seems attractive to you. Is it interesting whether the beginning of the transformation - when the person is clearly visible - or the end of the transformation, where there is almost nothing left of the person.
I also wonder which transformation is more interesting - when the character transforms gradually and symmetrically, or when different parts of the body change with a lag and not evenly.

There are a few things at play for me personally, but my favorite moment is maybe kind of a tie? There is the moment when the transformation is complete or nearly complete and the person is experiencing/fully realizing their changed body.
The other part is the experience of having anatomy that humans don’t have, especially a tail (though other things, like wings and movable ears are there too) and the emergence of the tail (or the realization of having one) in a transformation is another favorite.
As to how “even” the transformation is, it could go either way. It’s nice to see one change, such as a hand becoming a paw, start things off. But I picture my own fursona’s shapeshifting happening quickly and pretty much all at once.

A lot of my interest in transformation is because, since I was young, I’ve had some desire to be something other than human, which is a big part of what drew me to the furry fandom to begin with.

Going beyond just my own interest, I know others are more interested in the beginning of transformation, or in the process of it.

In the context of submission and dominance, a lot of transformations have a theme of the person that is transformed losing control to whoever or whatever is transforming them. This can include being treated as an animal afterward. There are a number of ways to explore this loss of control aspect.
