Whoa, interesting! You got my big yeen ears perked up. Guess that by evolution of socialization, you mean something along the lines that this community is ahead of the mainstream when it comes to acceptance of "otherness" of all kinds? And how exactly did you tie transhumanism into that?

I have been enjoying furry media form the moment I am exposed to it I guess, but only recently I decided to engage with more people in the fandom.

I am quite curious about the choice of profile pic (isn't that the mascot on spicy noodles?), any reasons?

Yes! But also in the way the community interacts with avatars. We’re slowly moving to a space where we use technology for socialization in a way that is avatar based and like being seen as the way you present yourself to others? Which is using technology to better the human experience, which is how I tied in transhumanism. We’re essentially using our avatars to communicate ourselves and it’s v ahead of the curve when everyone’s work meets are gonna be in the meta verse and shit in the coming years

Same here!

I chose him because I don’t have good art of my fursona yet and those noodles are all I’ve eaten for the last two weeks so it works out lmao

I am still in the process of making art for a fursona I guess, my current pfp is just a placeholder as well, but a direct inspiration.

I do wanna say the sketches of your fursona you posted are very adorable!

Ahhhhh thank you!!!! ;u; what’s sad is now I’m actually torn because I might make a jackalope instead lmao. It’s so much pressure I’m putting on myself for my first fursona and for what haha

Dahahah! I definitely understand that pressure! Tbh I never even thought about fursona that hard until I wanna engage with the community.

I love the idea of a jackalope sona! I was literally just thinking about jackalopes on a thread talking about mythical species another day. Maybe try sketching it out to see which resonated better? I would say might as well have fun with it~

My struggle now is finding a style I am happy with to even sketch my sona in, I don't draw that much to begin with so that'll definitely be a challenge (and I am broke so commissions are off the table), but I guess it is also a learning opportunity, hopefully.

No worries, guys, the more thought you put in choosing your 'sona, the more relevant & permanent it will be. Speaking from experience. And I always support the jackalopes!

That's some good stuff! *Might* also provide me with a pleasant line of work in the future. See, I'm pretty advanced when it comes to realistic furry art in 3D, actual simulated fur included, and realistic light & shadows, and all that. I never managed to bring myself to offering commissions though, it's kinda "meh" when you consider the amount of effort that would be needed for a picture. No way to price it appropriately, the 2D art is more adapted for the commisions as we have now. But if the tech advances considerably, then using my skills to make avatars - whole photorealistic "virtual bodies" for people to use - now we're talking about truly inspiring business! BTW I know there's some virtual avatars thing going on already but it's pretty rudimentary as it is - but yeah, maybe the time to start looking into it.
